It would be wonderful to get paid through the holidays! For those of us whose means of income is only through the job of a lunch monitor, it is very hard to make ends meet, when there is no income for the days we are off. The job of a lunch monitor and aides are so important for the school system, as they are taking care of the students at lunch time and recess, as well as in the classroom. Something to take action on!!

I have two friends that work in New Rochelle school district as aides. They are some of the most hard working people I know. They go above and beyond for all of our children. They don't get paid if they're sick or if their kids are sick. They literally have to go to work unwell because they can't afford to stay home. This is such an injustice. I've seen school aides take on so many other duties, that they do not receive compensation for. I hope this petition gets all New Rochelle aides the raises and benefits they deserve!!!!! It takes a village. And they are a HUGE part of the foundation of Our Schools!
