Netflix TV continues to revolutionize the way we consume entertainment, offering a vast library of TV shows and movies accessible from any device with an internet connection. With the rise of streaming services, Netflix has become a powerhouse in the entertainment industry, producing critically acclaimed original content and revitalizing classic shows for a new audience.
Petitions under this topic often focus on demanding diverse representation in Netflix programming, advocating for the inclusion of marginalized voices and stories. One petition with thousands of signatures calls for increased LGBTQ+ representation in Netflix shows, highlighting the importance of authentic and inclusive storytelling.

The recent actions made by Netflix and other streaming to pull their own ORIGINAL programing just highlights the importance of physical media and preserving film, television, video games, literature for future generations to enjoy and discover.
Bandersnatch won an Emmy and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend was nominated for one, to remove it makes zero sense business and cultural wise. My hope is Netflix puts on their gaming section and/or release as a downloadable game/app.
Having a physical copy on DVD/Blu Ray also be great.
Having it not be access is erasing history and cultural. It's cultural vandalism at it's most shame.
I remember when I watched Bandersnatch with my sister on its release in 2018. It was one of the most intricate pieces of media I consumed at the time and fairly captivated my interest compared to the other releases at the time. Making your own decision and having entertainment be more interactive is more engaging to the viewer and can incentivize them to replay it over and over again to make different choices. I personally believe it should either be archived or remain on Netflix. Or on any other platform either to buy or rent. Or even physical media would be cool. Either way, I would love for Black Mirror Bandersnatch to stay alive and let people in the future discover it and enjoy it as much as we have the last 7 years.
Removing an Emmy award winning piece of art when it will then never be avaliable to play again is absolutely ridiculous. The least Netflix could have done is make a separate Interactives App where you could play the interactives you love, without them getting in the way of their Netflix game "rebranding".
It is disappointing to see one of the worlds biggest streaming sites deliberately disposing of technology never seen before in streaming sites ; interactive specials built like immersive games playable on a streaming service.
In all my years of seeing interactives being taken off the platform, this one is by far one of the most upsetting. Generally because now that marks the end of viewer interactive experience for streaming (as of now), gets rid of all the hard work and effort of the people who worked on this project, and erases the existence of this classic for good, becoming lost media.
So now the question asked months ago has been answered; how far will Netflix go to ruin their reputation, all to earn money?
So very far, that the viewers don't even matter to these people anymore. And unfortunately, in the process, we have forever lost many classics and favorites that we enjoyed watching for years.
Bandersnatch was a significant technological innovation. I am sincerely flabbergasted by the decision to remove it from the platform. Absolute powerhouse performances from Fionn and Will, and beyond that it was an amazing way to keep retention (I played for four hours straight two weeks ago, like many folks I had a random urge to play Bandersnatch and then found out after the fact it was being removed from Netflix soon). It feels so disrespectful to the actors and production team that worked immensely hard on that project, and disrespectful to the people that played/watched Bandersnatch and loved it.
Such a unique piece of storytelling that should be preserved!! Bandersnatch is a fascinating blend of film and a choose your own adventure game that’s cherished by so many who’ve played it, and it’s not fair to delete it and have it inaccessible. Please Netflix, even if you have to remove it for whatever reason, find a way to preserve Bandersnatch so others will be able to experience the beauty and madness of it.
Bandersnatch was the reason I started watching Black Mirror in the first place. Easily the best episode of the whole series. I’m honestly heartbroken and furious that it’s just gone like it never existed. This was a piece of storytelling that mattered to people. It mattered to me.
Treating art as expendable “content” is not only disrespectful to the countless hard-working artists behind Bandersnatch, but the viewers too. This wouldn’t be an issue so much if there was a preservation of Netflix’s interactive content, which there doesn’t appear to be whatsoever. It’s not the first and definitely not the last move Netflix makes that will stain their desired reputation as a place where you can see the best series, without much fear of them being removed at a whim. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Netflix, you should do better for the people paying increasingly more for your service, monthly. You should do better for the preservation of art, and respect towards the hundreds of human beings who put everything into making Bandersnatch and raised your reputation a few notches. And perhaps most relevantly, in a more expensive world than ever, and the average consumer is down to the dollar, this could be the difference between paying for your service and HBO’s Max. “Well, despite their issues, at least they kept Bandersnatch. At least they kept the Kimmy Schmidt special. At least Netflix kept the interactive content which separates them from the rest.” Let that be said, for your sake.
Bandersnach should at the very least be archived somewhere. Upload it to YouTube and make it playable with the pop up video suggestions. It’d be another way to make revenue on your official YouTube channel and preserve this cult classic. For a company that recently adopted games into your brand, it is completely tone deaf to wipe this choose your own adventure style game/viewing experience from existence. To erase this is to erase a truly unique one-of-a-kind piece of media.
Unique stories and unique story telling formats need to be preserved. If you can't keep it on the service then find a way to preserve this unique storytelling format so future story tellers can find inspiration
