The economic impact of a local track is often underestimated. And the reduction in illegal street racing is a benefit as well. Also, youth handling dynamics courses and instruction can help prevent accidents and the needless death of our young drivers. Nevermind the enjoyment and community building of being with like-minded people in our area.
Ever since I was a child I've dreamt of being in motorsports but not just drag racing or dirt ovals, my love goes to road course racing and having more courses like this in my area would be a step in the right direction for me and many others like myself to be able to do more of what we love and even compete in amateur series with there being more tracks nearby rather than needing to drive to some of the existing tracks which could be as far away as the coasts of this country. Having easier access to the entry level of this great sport will be a benefit to gearheads nationwide and to the cities these tracks are near to by providing the wild and rowdy kids like me a safe place to push the limits of our automobiles.
I have been going to out of town venues like this proposed track for years. We stay in hotels and eat out at local restaurants. The Track brings people to the town and generates business. Even gas stations benefit just from the extra sales of fuel. The opportunity for hosting public events much like other similar vines is a real perk for the community. Track time allows for a safe place to drive ones dream car and learn to drive better without compromising public safety.
We have nothing in Fort Wayne for the auto enthusiast, Fort Wayne has built a ball park downtown and there is all kinds of sports venues, but nothing for the car guys. For those worried about the noise, I'm sure with proper development the sound levels will be minimal. This will bring lots of revenue to the S.W. side of Fort Wayne.
As a 20-year resident and car enthusiast, I wholeheartedly support this motorsports club. It's a fantastic opportunity to boost our local economy, provide a safe venue for enthusiasts, and bring exciting events to our community. Let's rev up Fort Wayne!
Would love to see more tracks in Indiana. Currently my wife and I run in the NASA Greatlakes region. We are traveling to Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Pittsburgh, and Missouri for track days. Every state but our own. There are so many great organizations that could keep this site booked. Fort Wayne is my home town and would love to see this for them.
