PBS & NPR are critical to many households that do not have access or means to get cable or internet. It's free to all and has programing for all ages and interests. NO Funding Cuts!
I cannot stress how important it is to have impartial public broadcasting. It keeps people updated and informed. It's also educational. It scares those who want us uneducated so they would be able to do what they are doing now in this currently atrocious administration. It is a beacon of hope and help to those in areas where the government completely ignores what is happening to the people. It is much needed.
Publicly funded and (relatively) neutral media sources are incredibly important in keeping balance and reason in the discussion.
Previous Fascist regimes have cut off public funding to such sources and it is completely unethical.
Do not defund these sources, especially when we have our president citing FOX news as a "credible" agency.
Ridiculous, it should not even be an idea worth considering.
I was one of many individuals who grew up with PBS. There were shows on PBS I enjoyed watching, many of which are from my childhood, Sesame Street being one of the most notable examples. To take this funding away would be to take away solace in underserved areas. PLEASE don't go forward with this...I ask you nicely.
QUALITY TV and radio programs! I grew up with as did my kids with the beautiful nature programs and educational children & adult programs like Zoom and Sesame Street and Ken Burns's historical series. NPR offers a variety of educational, reflective and entertaining programs. The news on both PBS and NPR is trustworthy & factual!
My children grew up watching public broadcasting and listening to all its diverse programs. They value the importance of fair information and educational opportunities.
