Marine conservation is a crucial topic that addresses the protection and preservation of marine ecosystems and species. As climate change and pollution continue to threaten our oceans, petitions related to marine conservation have gained traction globally. Key issues include combating plastic pollution, establishing marine protected areas, and ending destructive fishing practices.
Notable petitions in this topic call for the reduction of single-use plastics to prevent marine pollution and advocate for the creation of more marine protected areas to safeguard vulnerable species. Others focus on promoting sustainable fishing practices to preserve marine biodiversity and ensure the health of our oceans for future generations.

Very disappointing, a decision made with no forethought, no warning and no justifiable cause. Will undo decades and millions of dollars of efforts to preserve this unique ecosystem. We are the stewards of this land and we are failing it - our children and the rest of the world will look back at these decisions and hate us for it.
Why?for the love of god.... please please tell me why this has even got to this point of us as a human race...having to petition to stop the pain and suffering of living creatures that have a right to be here and are ABSOLUTELY crucial to the ongoing harmony and eco system of our planets very excistence! and that aside...how so mindless we are to not see that the ocean is what gave us our beginning... as a child before i was even influenced or brain washed by people or society or even my parents i was deeply interested in documentaries on our planet... the ocean and everything in it always facinated me so deeply... i use to collect a magazine collection that came out each week at my local newsagent that educated me on sealife and explained and taught me alot.. my first magazine was about sharks and i learned how many hundreds of species of sharks there was in the ocean at that time and was fascinated by the "hammerhead"shark... i was only 11.. i thought to myself "how amazing is that that a creature can push out his jaw and swim so fast and catch his food?!" i remember thinking "i cant swim that fast!"... i then even at that age thought to myself and realised without influence that as human beings we are not that smart...Im so deeply and always have been hurt by mindless unthoughtfull behaviour by people against animals or creatures without a voice...i use to think to myself... "if they could speak what would they say? i would look into the eyes of an animal...and see there pain.. the eyes of anything can tell you so much if you see deeply enough....we are pathetic as human beings, brainwashed by poltics, drama and the love of power...do we think we are immortal? We have become selfish, mindless, and we have evolved as a species not using our blessed power of voice for the greater good of anything or anyone, but our own selfish need for validation as a person or to show power...it hurts to the pit of my stomach that we are so consumed by power, ego, status. When these people in power that can quite easily turn this all around.. realise that the following they will receive for acting with compassion would be more powerfull and in tune with the people more so than the way they do it now...othetwise i hope they realise this...yoir real calling will be when you reach the gates of heaven and you face yourselves, then you will say "oh dear god im sorry i had the power to change these issues but i didnt"...its to late..dont let that be your last calling. Peace and respect by us to all creatures great and small is what will make this world a better place..
I worked many years to conserve the wildlife on and around an island off-shore of the main Hawaiian Islands. The protections of marine protected areas like this one are critical too maintaining a healthy ecosystem in the oceans and on the islands they are adjacent to. There are millions of square miles that remain unprotected and open for fishing. There is no need to strip this MPA of protections other than greed. I urge you to maintain the protections of this MPA for generations to come.
What a short sighted and reckless decision. This will destroy decades of progress and restoration in one of the most biodiverse regions of the Pacific, harming the reefs, islands, wildlife and local communities that depend on this special region of the world. Plus, studies have shown that protecting marine areas from fishing will increase the catch in nearby areas, as the recovering fish populations “spill over” to areas nearby. Even the fishing industry won’t benefit from this decision. We need to expand protections for our oceans, not rollback the few we have.
My reservists and I were lost in the mountains of Camp Pendleton. It had been days, maybe even weeks since we had seen any form of civilization. What should have been a simple land nav training exercise quickly became a true test of survival. If it was not for Corporal Hundley finding us on his 100 mile fun run, carrying us all down, and dropping us off at the main side Dominos… I get emotional every time I think about it
I was a demotivated Staff Sergeant and was about to EAS until I met Corporal Hundly. Cpl Hundley’s initiative and judgement is above peers. His communication abilities are respected by senior leaders and peers across the globe. If it wasn’t for Cpl Hundley I would have EAS, but, his motivation is contagious which convinced me to re-enlist.
Corporal Hundley saved me from being beaten in a dark alley. He said "I'll always be there when you least expect me, but when you need me the most". Thanks man. I'll never forget you.
Corporal Hundley once fireman carried me 4 miles when I rolled my ankle. He didn’t seem phased by it at all, and continued our FEX for the next two weeks.
I was in the jungle with Cpl Hundley and a Habu snake came and bit me, with no hesitation Cpl hundley killed the habu and sucked out all the venom from my bite wound saved my life
