My family doesn’t have the money or means to transport ourselves this far away from campus. Expecting this much is completely unreasonable. We were promised at the start of our journey to graduate on campus, and now we’re expected to go 45 minutes away in a sketchy area to a place not even affiliated with LMU?

The least LMU could do is provide a proper graduation ceremony on the grounds where they’ve experienced the most memorable moments of their lives. Their chance at a high school graduation was not fulfilled. Let this moment stay close to home — so they can at least experience what a proper graduation ceremony from their alma mater is actually like.

I'm deeply saddened. As graduate students, we've all put in immense effort to reach this milestone, and not being able to celebrate it in the way we've worked so hard for feels truly disheartening. My cousins had the privilege of graduating on LMU's campus, and it feels like it should be our turn as well.

As an LMU alum, I think all students should have a chance to graduate on the university's campus even if it means changing up the ceremony, not at a stadium our school has no connection to. With all the time and money LMU students have put into their education, they deserve better.

This class was deprived from walking to graduate due to Covid for their bachelors degree. Now we have invested over $300k for a masters it seems we have paid for a graduation on LMU lawn

Graduation is all about making memories and celebrating achievement. A large impersonal event at a venue that has no significance to the students is not the right choice. Break graduation ceremonies up into a series of small on-campus celebrations instead.

The experience of having graduation take place on the beautiful campus of LMU should not be taken away from the students and their families who committed their hard work and immense amount of money to EARN a degree from LMU. They deserve to graduate ON CAMPUS where they have connection and meaningful memories. Not in a gigantic, commercial stadium that will be sterile. It is just disgraceful.

So disappointed to hear that this is even a possibility. My heart breaks for the students and their families. Graduation in Sunken Gardens is a tradition that must be preserved. As a Student Worker, I just can’t imagine graduation anywhere else. Do better, LMU.

My father, brother and aunt, who will be a golden lion at my graduation, all have graduated on campus. Recreated photos will not be taken, because of the “inconvenience” of grad that has happened every year at LMU except during Covid. COVID is not the issue, so what is bigger than Covid to cause this change that no student is excited about. I may not even go if I can’t graduate like a normal student. I worked and paid too much for this LMU and Dr. T Law! Please hear us and have us graduated like everyone else on this beautiful campus!
