This is IMPORTANT to me! Please sign this on behalf of all of the kids who struggle with learning to read! They need our voices to stand up and declare they require tools PROVEN to work! We do NOT need more of the same poorly performing tools "we've always used." We KNOW how to overcome true dyslexia and have for decades, if we'd actually follow the proven methods! I received training in the Orton Gillingham method and was able to teach my child with severe dyslexia how to read in 3 years AFTER my child had been in public school for 5 years. There they received reading resource services and still couldn't read going into 5th grade. We pulled our kids out of public school. We started homeschooling using the PROVEN methods and they worked fabulously. There's really NO REASON kids with dyslexia can't be screened and taught with proven tools these days!! We've known how to overcome dyslexia for 50+ years!! WHY do we continue to use programs that have been researched and proven to be INEFFECTIVE ??? We need to stop letting schools choose whatever they prefer and hold them accountable to use tools and programs proven to work!! Please, even if you have no personal experience with or knowledge of dyslexia, for the sake of kids who simply need proven programs to help them learn to read, PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION!!

My children have been left behind in the broken system! Please don't leave their children behind too!
Tori supported: We Call on the GA Board of Education to Approve ONLY the Top 4 Universal Reading Screeners
Our kids deserve a better future backed by science-driven results. I want to fight for other kids to have the opportunities that my child was denied before seeking private options to remediate years of unfounded reading techniques. We need to stop failing these children!

PLEASE use evidence based screeners to support our educators to ensure students receive early intervention! It has taken SO many years to begin to move the needle here in GA. I became an OG Fellow in order to train educators in structured literacy because of what my now 30 year old son encountered in public schools! Stay the course!! It matters!

Throughout my career as an English & History teacher, I have seen the difference high quality, evidence-based interventions make in the lives of students with dyslexia. I have also seen how kids flounder when inadequately supported in the face of learning difficulties. The right tools in the hands of the right people will make a world of difference for students struggling with literacy. Let's get GA teachers the best possible tools.

As a retired early childhood educator, I want to see our Georgia students get the education they deserve. Currently, we are failing our dyslexic students. important to get the screening of our young children done early and correctly. The 4 top screeners shoud be the only ones approved for use in our schools. The plan to include other screeners just because they are currently used is a detour leading to more failure.

My wife stewards the little free library in our small community and the joy it brings to the neighborhood and further is her biggest pride. She loves talking to people and finding their reading interests. She loves giving kids access to new reading materials and getting them excited about reading. I believe little free libraries are a critical part of increasing literacy in our communities. They are unobtrusive and easily cared for. Please approve and support this petition.

The Little Free Libraries in Philadelphia have made a huge impact on my family of five. My children love pulling out new book treasures and sharing already loved books from our home through these beautiful communal resources. Please allow this family to continue the act of generosity in Belmont West. It will only enrich your community!

I grew up in a community where a wonderful woman supplied a book house like this. I preferred to read and fall into my imagination rather than run around the streets like my friends. This is a great idea for youths. It keeps their imagination alive, as well as keeping them away from any kind of mischief. There are a lot of children in this community. Expanding their knowledge and vocabulary along with imagination is extremely healthy . Giving them an advantage over others.

It is shameful that our school district has no libraries for our students. As a result, teachers spend huge amounts of time and money to build classroom libraries and make reading accessible to our students. Teachers and students need this resource to build strong, joyful readers. Books need to be more accessible, not less!
