As a trans student at the university, I am appalled at the blatant transphobia of the uni. This policy is only for show and appeasing bigots, because the only way it can be enforced is by having a list of every trans person on campus outside every toilet, or checking IDs on entry to every toilet. Or, of course, by encouraging bathroom harassment, which is an even worse look for the university. Shame on them.

This affects everyone: it will start with trans people and bathrooms and continue to hit more and more vulnerable groups. It will not end with bathrooms unless we stand up and fight back for trans rights now. Stand with our trans siblings as the university tries to single them out and drive rifts into our communities. This separation will soon lead to violence — against trans people and cis people alike — and we need to protect each other from dangerous policies like this one. The university needs to step back into the 21st century and integrate into the society that we want to create: one where trans people are treated equally, because we have existed forever and will continue to exist! Humans do not conform to a list of 2 biological sexes, nor genders. Let people piss where they like— you’ll survive!

Our trans community deserve the same protection and human rights all cis-hetero people do. A world where a woman is forced to use the same toilets as men isn't safe. To force that upon anyone is embarrassing and inhumane.

Gender affirming care has saves thousands of people like me, both children and adults. Taking that away from us would essentially take away the lives of countless people.
Mina supported: Bondi: Hands off doctors who treat trans youth!
Gender affirming care saves lives. Saved my own life. Trying to make it illegal or crime to provide life saving care should itself be a crime.

Trans children deserve care, they deserve to be treated as human beings with dignity and respect. The doctors who support them are saving these children’s lives!

Gender affirming care is the business of no one but the people who need it and the doctors who provide it. And it’s life-saving, necessary care. Care that is scientifically backed and supported by medical and psychological organizations whose responsibility is ensuring quality care for all. Government has no business in healthcare decisions.

Gender affirming care is important because it’s saves lives! Mine included. We need this outlet in order to be us authentically and unapologetically.

I'm cis, but I strongly believe no one should have to feel unsafe for their existence or for something that doesn't affect others. Most trans people aren't seeking to harm others, and any that do should not represent the community as a whole. Just let them be when they aren't hurting anyone. Truth is, trans people face more violence than they dish out
