Memorials should be built for someone who connects and inspires people. Not someone who was divisive and spread a lot of hatred towards the most targeted people. Building a memorial for him would be harmful to thousands in the community by telling them that Charlie’s hate towards them is inspiring.

"UVU is a place for you" is one of the first things I say to people when I tell them to check it out as an option for school. I loved my time at UVU and made lifelong friends. The reason for that being that I felt so welcomed and safe. I don't agree whatsoever with what Charlie Kirk was spreading. I feel sad that his family will have to continue life without him, but I dont feel as though he needs a memorial dedicated to him. I dont think he stood for inclusion and equality like UVU does.

I am a wheeling high school alumni, former high school teacher, and GSA sponsor. Elevating Charlie Kirk to such a high honor would send a message opposite of inclusivity and not take into account the many populations he defamed throughout his career.

I extend my strongest recommendation for the reinstatement of Melissa Calhoun at Satellite High School. I have known her since she was 16 as a student in my classroom, and I have watched her flourish as a teacher in her adulthood, from her work at DeLaura Middle School where she inspired so many young people including our son, to her work at Satellite High School where she has not only poured her heart into teaching but also to developing strong bonds with students and their families. She truly is the best of the best. Please reinstate her. It is unquestionably the right thing to do.

I was a student under Mrs Calhoun for 2 years, she was always a safe place to go for anyone having trouble. Mrs Calhoun is compassionate, always there to listen, and it absolutely crushed me when I heard the news. This is completely unacceptable and a step backwards in history, I fully support the reinstatement of Mrs Calhoun.
Lily supported: Reinstate Ms. Calhoun: Advocate for Respect and Student Rights
I was absolutely disgusted to hear about the injustice that has been inflicted upon Mrs Calhoun, for simply being respectful of her students request. I wholeheartedly support the reinstatement of this incredible teacher. I’ve had the pleasure of meeting her outside of school settings on two different occasions, once when she was on an evening walk with her daughters and again during a garage sale a few months ago. I didnt know it but she told me that she actually taught my now 23 year old son back when she was still at Delaura! That alone speaks volumes about her character and the genuine care she has for her students. When I asked my son if he remembered her, he said that if more teachers were as kind, patient and encouraging as she is, he would have enjoyed school more. She is truly one of the kindest, most thoughtful people I’ve ever met. We need more educators like her in our community — compassionate, dedicated, and sincerely invested in the lives of those she teaches.

Hi Good afternoon members of the board my name is Alejandro Perez Coach Plaza has been There for me and others in very hard times. When I have asked for help and others dismissed me, she was the only one who helped me in the school. I feel responsible for her Loosing her job. Because of me this is all happening. Because of me, not only did I Loose my mentor, my coach, my safe space But others did too! I think coach plaza should come back because she made a real difference in the lives of students who felt like they had no one else. She is more than just a coach. she is a mentor, a listener, a protector, and a safe space for so many of us. Coach Plaza stood out as someone who actually cared. She stepped in when others didn’t. She gave students hope, direction, and the strength to keep going. Taking her away from us makes us sad because she was there for students who had problems or didn’t know what to do and she was there to help us so I don’t think it’s fair for her to loose her job! The reason why I was in the girls locker room because I had cheer problems, personal problems, and bullying problems I wasn’t in there to make people uncomfortable and I’m truly sorry for being in there and now I know that i shouldn’t be going in there in the first place. please don’t let this be the reason why coach plaza lost her job she was only being supportive towards me and others I want to take this moment to apologize to my cheer team my coach the parents and the administrators for my actions. please I beg you to let coach plaza continue being our cheer coach for our remaining years in high school she was the one who built this team and it’s only far that we finish the rest of our high school years with her as our cheer coach if you need to punish someone let it be me. She was only doing what her heart felt was right. Thank you for taking the time to listen to me. After All that they didn’t really care instead of looking at the bigger picture!!
