Legislation is a crucial topic that impacts various aspects of society, from healthcare and education to civil rights and environmental protection. Petitions related to legislation focus on advocating for changes in existing laws or policies to address pressing issues and improve outcomes for communities. Recent trends show a rise in petitions calling for police reform, LGBTQ+ rights, and climate action through legislative measures.
One noteworthy petition accumulating support calls for comprehensive police reform by advocating for increased accountability and transparency within law enforcement agencies. Another petition urges lawmakers to pass legislation protecting LGBTQ+ individuals from discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations.
Take a stand by exploring the petitions under the legislation topic and adding your voice to the movement for change. Your support can influence legislative decisions and pave the way for a fairer and more just society.
My daughter Rebecca is starting a petition for screening of PPCM during pregnancy! It is the condition she developed when she was pregnant with her youngest son if undiagnosed this condition can be fatal to mothers! If you can sign and pass along I’d appreciate it!
Vote against mandated readings of King James Version Bible in Idaho public schools. How my minor children are approached with spiritual relationships will be determined by their parents. That includes but is not limited to which versions of written documents they encounter and which passages are appropriate for them. Many words and statements can be taken out of context, and writings are always influenced by the author, audience, time period, location, and circumstance. No one should force their views on anyone else, especially minors.
I served ten years on a 67 month sentence. I had a 60 month gun enhancement tacked onto my 67 month sentence, which garners zero earned time. No deaths, no injuries (besides my own) were involved in my Burglary charge. And I sat away from my child and wife for ten years instead of five. I now work two FULLTIME jobs, taking care of, and an active position in my family. This could have happened 33% of that extra five years earlier. And believe me, my situation is LIGHT compared to the countless others I’ve seen. Change needs to happen and it needs to happen quick.
If those in power don't have to follow the law, then the law is unjust and oppressive. The law should be respected most by those trusted to uphold it--not abused for their personal gain.
I can imagine what it must be like to have a child that is bullied. The constant worry about what others may do to my child would haunt me daily. These families need help and support from school and community leaders to stop this behavior. All parents need to understand the importance of teaching their children to be kind of others. Something has to be done. If it takes legislation, then what are we waiting for?
I taught in the public schools for 32 years. Bullying has become worse over the years, mainly because the victims are punished and not allowed to defend themselves. The kids with the biggest hearts are always the targets of one's with sinister ways. When school staff does get involved in helping the victim, they are more likely to be sued for action than inaction. I am praying for the family of this sweet little boy.
I am so sorry for your loss. Sammy sounds like he was such a great kid. Hard to believe the adults in some of these schools are still not taking bullying more seriously. As an adult, i cannot imagine what it would do to my emotional state if i had to endure what Sammy endured day in and day out at my workplace. I hope you win the lawsuit and that your efforts create change, though I know it won't bring your son back.
