It’s been 10 years now since I graduated. Ed’s wise words and lessons still follow me through my daily life and i think of him often. Not only was he an incredible teacher, but also a mentor. Ed was someone who genuinely poured his heart and soul into each individual student. We all had unique reasons to be there, yet he treated each of us like we were worthy. Not only did he care about our future, but he gave many of us reason to care for our OWN future. I think we can all say that he gave us insight, hope, inspiration, and confidence to achieve in our highest ability. He drove us for success. Where others judged our reasons for being in alternative school, he advocated. Many of us kids would not have graduated or made it through life if it weren't for him. Many of us excelled academically, however we struggled in other ways whether it be socially or even issues at home that made it difficult to focus on our learning. These different backrounds and issues made it difficult for many of us to succeed in a “normal” school setting. Ed took even the most difficult of students, and found a way to show them they matter, their education matters. I went from dreading school and barely attending, to school being my escape and success story. Thankyou to Ed, and also to Mrs. Caron for leaving a lasting lifelong impact and advocating for us. I’m forever grateful. You saved my highschool experience.
Without Ed there’s no chance I would have ever got my diploma. He always made it a point to relate to his students. During high school he wore many hats as a teacher , principle , counselor and a friend.
I was referred to this alternative school through juvenile probation, and it ended up changing the course of my life. Through many one on one conversations, I gained valuable life lessons that shifted my perspective in powerful ways. Ed always created a space where I never felt judged, just understood. His leadership and the environment he built made all the difference for me.
I was severely bullied through our middle school and stayed back twice because of horrible attendance. I just didn't want to go to school because of the bullying. Once I found Westwood's it was so different I loved going to school
Ed should definitely be recognized I definitely would not of made it through highschool at a regular school .I'll be forever thankful for him and his school thanks for never giving up on us or judging us!!
I'm an A-List Preferred member who travels around forty weeks a year almost exclusively with SWA. If these corporate raiders are allowed to cut services and start nickel and diming us, I'll be forced to shop other airlines. I fly SWA because of their customer service, two free checked bags, and open seating.
Basically every *worst* change you could think of is what is being accomplished by Southwest now, and it's very saddening. The signature yellow bag snack mix snacks are no more, higher prices with long lay overs, lack of non-stops, getting rid of free bags, lay offs, and no more open seating. What exactly is the company accomplishing with this? Loosing many valuable customers and heart of decades of what makes Southwest special, stand out, and reason to choose.
Southwest… I’ve flown with you for decades. Recommended you to everybody. With these recent bag-checking changes, there is no way I’d ever fly with you again - way too close to being like Spirit. Add the seating changes, what even sets you apart from any other airline? Many of us chose you if not for the free seating, the free checked bags… I already know if I have to pay extra for these things, I’m choosing Delta over you in a heartbeat.
I firmly believe you were once THE best budget airline, and I will l miss the straightforward pricing. I can’t believe what’s happening to this company. It’s truly sad. Greed finally got a hold of you, and management has destroyed your legacy.
PLEASE reconsider these awful changes.
I know he doesn't want this job. He doesn't want to run for the highest office in the world. And that's understandable. But he also knows that we are in the face of a dark, dark future. We the people need someone to stand up for us, because pit government is no longer for the people. Stewart understands what we are going through, he gets us. Is the point of governance not to understand the people? This is bigger than power, or politics. The next elections will decide the fate of our planet, our people, our country. Please Mr. Stewart, these politicians are tearing down the entire system and brigning us down with it. You are our only hope.
I did a search because someone told me that Mr. Stewart was in the running for a New Hampshire senate seat. I found this petition instead. I agree. The United States is in desperate need of a strong leader that is for the people, not corporate interests. Our modern society exists on infrastructure created primarily in the 50s. The railway system has antiquated laws set by robber barons during the last guilded age. Progress is being hindered. Lives are at stake. Social reform is desperately needed. We need a leader that both understands our global position and the people that truly keep this country going. We need unity.
