Animal abuse should be considered a crime. No living being deserves to suffer or be treated like trash. There are countless resources to be able to forfeit an animal and resorting to violence against a helpless animal is just disgusting.
I care about this issue because as a Junior in high school and having to carry my own period products sometimes can be a hassle. I sometimes don’t have space or my pads get crushed in my bag. Also, sometimes I forget to bring needs for my period and then I get to school and I only have one pad, and there’s none in the restrooms, it’s so annoying. I have to go all the way home just to get what I need and then stay home because I bled through my clothes because the school didn’t have what I needed. I also have to ask my friends and I feel bad because they might be on their period. Teachers also need this too, not just students. It’s a struggle for all women. Now, they probably have more necessities provided to them but that’s not fair, it should be the same for everyone. Period products should be provided to schools for FREE some people cannot afford these products so it would help so much!
I live off Westland Drive and between the hours of 330pm-6pm Westland Drive is pure gridlock from Ebenezer Rd to S. Northshore Dr. Once school is out at A. L. Lotts Elementary School until way after the rush hour traffic, its bumper to bumper cars trying to get westward on Westland Drive. Adding more cars to this area is going to make this disaster a true nightmare. Not to mention west of Pellissippi Pkwy towards Northshore, the road is narrower, n and already inhibiting the inhabitants who try to get out of their driveways safely with said bumper to bumper cars. This area can not safely deal with 600 more cars to the area.
My husband and I live off of Westland Drive and we have worked so hard to increase the value of our home! Not only would this completely overcrowd Westland (an already overcrowded road) but decrease the value of the properties around. We cannot let this happen!
My partner and I just bought our first home in this area with location and school zone in mind. I would hate for the place we worked so hard to afford dropped in value
