I put my kayak in at the boat launch weekly in the summer. I enjoy paddling in Muskegon Lake. It’s beautiful to watch the swans and the sunset. Please don’t take this precious site away from our community. Marcy Miller, 1640 5th St., Muskegon 49441.

My family visits Fisherman's Landing multiple times per year for family outings and vacations. Removing it would be devastating to us and many others who we know. We cannot let this beautiful place be demolished!

Save Fisherman’s Landing and Campground! Fisherman’s Landing and Campground is a vital asset to the City of Muskegon, benefiting both residents and visitors alike. My family and friends love staying there because of its prime location near the bike trail, farmers market, local eateries, and shops. Eliminating the campground and reducing parking for the boat launch by one-third would have a serious negative impact on local businesses. Additionally, the city hosts over 80 fishing tournaments each year—an important draw for tourism and the local economy—that require sufficient parking. Preserving Fisherman’s Landing and Campground is essential for the community, local businesses, and the many visitors who enjoy Muskegon’s waterfront. Let’s work together to keep it open!

I am very much opposed to this "land swap". Muskegon lake is a public body of water that should be preserved with QUALITY public access. It is irresponsible for the city to trade its public land already developed for recreation for a smaller parcel of land that is not desirable for recreation. This trend of Muskegon prioritizing business development instead of protecting its resources needs to stop while there is something left of our public access. Allowing Adelaide Point to control and use up public access has taken away fishing opportunities for many. With that now gone and Heritage Landing closed half of the summer due to festivals, that leaves Fishermans Landing as the only public place left in Muskegon to fish from shore. While I am not a resident of Muskegon, I do live nearby in Ravenna. I regularly come to Muskegon for fishing opportunities. While there, I spend my money at the local bait and tackle shops, restaurants and breweries, as well as do most of my regular shopping at the farmers market and other local shops around the city. Without these recreational opportunities, my family and I would opt to spend our time and money in other areas that prioritize its public access to water recreation and fishing. Please do right by your own constituents and business owners and protect a valuable resource that so many other cities and towns would be lucky to have. Thank you

My husband and I decided one year to visit Michigan for the first time and stayed at Fisherman’s! We’re both very disappointed that there are possible plans of closing it. Muskegon is such a beautiful little town and staying there was such a wonderful experience. Please don’t fix what’s not broken. Jackie Webb, Ft Gibson, OK.

Fisherman’s Landing is great for Muskegon! Many people from out of town stay here for different festivals. People staying at Fisherman’s Landing spend money at local restaurants and shops. This helps the tourism for Muskegon. Many locals stay here instead of going to other campgrounds located farther away. So there money is staying local instead of being spent in other cities.

Fisherman's Landing is a unique "destination campsite" listed, and getting 5 star reviews on multiple websites. It is being shut down under the guise of giving lake access to more of the Muskegon population. Maybe, if you prefer sipping a latte on a concrete patio at a lakefront cafe, instead of taking the family camping, fishing, and boating. Five generations of our family have visited the Landing. There are economic reasons for changing the use of this area, but there are no plans to move, or replace the campground, which was the intent of the family who originally donated the land to the city of Muskegon. The campsite will be gone in 2 years, but the revenue producing replacements won't show up for 10-20 years

I have so many amazing memories at fisherman’s landing! My family used to camp there each summer to attend Unity Christian Music Festival. I can’t imagine not being able to continue this tradition with my baby!

Access to Michigan's natural resour mces is diminishing by development or gated communities. Please don't let this happen in Muskegon too. Save Fisherman's Landing. It's a beautiful park that everyday people can enjoy at a reasonable price.

I have a daughter, son in law and grandkids that camp there for 2 months every summer, taking that away would be such a shame. I visit almost daily when they are there and you are trying to promote Muskegon and talking about taking away one of its great treasures. This campground and boat launch is one of the best in the state. Our elected leaders should realize this before it's too late and we loose a real gem
