I recently graduated and the program was the best resource I could've had. If not for it I would be homeless, would not have a GED, and I would be without a career. I know there are definitely issues with it, but instead of removing it, I hope they can focus on the administration to have it run in favor of the students and genuinely caring for them as individuals.

Job corps has changed my life. This was my second chance at life, and it genuinely improved me as a person. I finally had an opportunity to do something important with my life, and now it’s being stripped away. I’ve been left heartbroken, and I have no where to go. Job corps was supposed to help me get a career, job, car, and house. This stops everything I was building up, and for so many other people in my position.

Hello, my name is Naomi and I had a relative whos life transformed for the better after getting into Jobs Corps. I have no idea where they would be if it weren't for it, so it breaks my heart knowing the USA is shutting down this opportunity for the youth. It is an absolute tragedy that were allowing something so important get destroyed. Jobs corps barley gets funding as is, so we do not act now to help these kids. Thank you for reading.

Despite the minor issues encountered at my particular center, I was weeks, possibly days from completing my final certification and graduation ceremony. I am now living at Sisu Youth homeless shelter and struggling to find an available job, let alone even piece together a good resume. I made friends that are no longer directly interacting, and the change has stressed me to no end.

Hello, my name is Jessica Myers. I go to Job Corps here in Oneonta NY. Job Corps change my life for me and family because I could not make enough money to help my daughter and I also could not figure what career path I wanted until I came to Job Corps. Without Job Corps I would be working 2-3 jobs and would not have enough bills paid off or have ends meet on food or on a house. With Job Corps help it showed me how to manage my money and how I can make ends meet on bills and foods for my family. I also have a friend who is homeless and do not have a place to and Job Corps was helping her find jobs and a place to live. Job Corps All of us students are trying to get our certifications in so many different trades. Please do not shut Job Corps down we Need Job Corps.

People need to understand that programs like these aren't only welfare or a safety net but and investment. An investment which all peoples make or fail to. The investment in a nation's inevitable future that is their youth. You reap what you sew and it up to us if choose to sew bounty now or reap famine later. Not to fund these programs it not only inhuman, but shortsighted. If we fail these kids now, they will not be failing us in the future but only returning our lacking kindness.

My name is Kasi Nakooka. I went and graduated from Maui Job Corps. They haven’t just changed my life but my brother, cousin and his baby mama. They helped me obtain my diploma, learn many culinary skills, how to get a job, do a resume, and learn more about different ethnicities. The Staff was always so supportive and helpful. It’s sad to see that they might be closing down they have helped so many people I know that have had so much struggles and helped them become not just better people but independent for themselves. It’s true when they say Job Corps works, safety first!!!!! Hope this helps.

I was a student there nearly two years ago. It was truly an awful place to be. Unsafe, unsanitary, and none of the staff seemed to be paid enough to give a damn. Food poisoning was common, washers full of sewage backflow, unsafe conditions in the Academics building, Jim Whitmire was a fecal smear on the underwear of humanity, inaccessible/non-working utilities that are required for US habitability laws (AC, laundry, clean water, sanitary bedrooms, and heating were not provided as per the federal specifications for healthy and habitable living conditions)
