Ice cream is a beloved dessert enjoyed worldwide for its creamy texture and endless flavor options. From classic flavors like vanilla and chocolate to unique combinations like mint chocolate chip or salted caramel, ice cream appeals to a wide range of taste preferences.
Petitions related to ice cream highlight issues like animal welfare in dairy production, advocating for cruelty-free ingredients and sustainable farming practices. Additionally, some petitions call for increased accessibility to dairy-free and vegan ice cream options to cater to individuals with dietary restrictions.
One featured petition with over 100,000 signatures pushes for more transparency in ice cream labeling, urging companies to accurately disclose ingredients and nutritional information to consumers. Another petition focuses on supporting small, local ice cream shops to help them thrive in the face of competition from large chains.
Get involved by exploring these petitions and taking action to promote ethical and inclusive practices in the ice cream industry. Your support can make a difference in shaping a more sustainable and equitable dessert landscape.
I purchase Ben & Jerry's for two reasons - quality, and the knowledge that their leadership supports political justice. The latter is part of a distinct brand identity that has been built over years, and I find Unilever taking action to undermine that identity a real issue, to the point that I no longer purchase Ben & Jerry's.
I don't need to buy your ice cream, I can do without it. But I do need brands that represent their laborers and customers best interests, and right now--that means encouraging support for what's right, for human rights, for fair and equitable justice. Don't choose greed over people, and I'll happily give you my money!
David Stiver should definitely be reinstated. His removal has sadly shown that corporate interests can reign over social values. The fact that he demonstrated a strongly deep commitment to social and environmental responsibility AS WELL AS investing in communities that have been historically marginalized and making them feel welcome has played a huge part in Ben & Jerry’s making some the most delicious and high-quality products out there. He has been an instrumental key into transforming Ben & Jerry's into the iconic brand that it is right now. Sadly we live in a society where some people have done things (like removing Stiver) that are counter to the true values of freedom and diversity.
My beloved sister, Layla Lowles, a passionate advocate of her Jewish faith, was brutally attacked during anti-Semitic protests at Columbia University. She was rendered unconscious and sustained severe injuries which have cruelly robbed her of her sight in one eye. She might also lose control of her bowel function as a consequence of the horrendous cruelty inflicted upon her. The values we hold dear are being threatened.
This is but one of many reminders of the grave tragedy of hate crimes that continues to affect innocent lives in our beloved country. The facts and figures point to a harrowing reality. From 2015 to 2019, hate crimes in the United States escalated to their highest levels in more than a decade (source: Federal Bureau of Investigation). About 20% of these attacks targeted people for their religion, with Jews being the most targeted religious group (source: Anti-Defamation League). This situation is unacceptable in a country built on the values of freedom and diversity.
We are calling upon our legislators and law enforcers to strictly enforce existing anti-terror laws. This includes enhancing the focus on crimes influenced by hateful ideologies, such as attempts at ethnic cleansing. Impunity for these crimes is not an option. Our ask is clear, urgent and necessary: securing the freedom to practice any faith without fear in the United States is a duty that must be protected by law.

This is not about ice cream. Removing CEO’s who speak against injustices under our watch is a serious threat to our democracy and our American values. Speaking against occupation and human rights violations is not antisemitic. The American people are no longer intimidated by Mccarthyist accusations. Reinstate David Stever!
One of the only products left that I didn't shop local for; I can do without you. My small town ice cream shop sells pints. I'll buy from them if you're going to shift away from the only motivation I had to spend money on your product in the first place.
