Hi!

I’m Kendra Wilson, and I created the petition to reinstate Ben & Jerry’s CEO.  I’m passionate about David Stever getting reinstated because I’m passionate about free speech.  The Trump administration is attempting to scare corporations and individuals into submission with baseless litigation that, regardless of its lack of merit, consumes resources. That’s what I believe happened here.  I think Unilever sees what’s happening in the US and they don’t want to risk the litigation that will likely result if Ben & Jerry’s continues to be outspoken against Trump. Frankly, that’s a valid business move.  But this is bigger than business savvy. Our freedoms are at stake. It’s not just going to be one event that topples our democracy, it’s going to be a culmination of things like this. 

I’m a new mom, I’d rather not deal with this, honestly.  But Donald Trump is attacking our constitutional rights, and it’s our responsibility to defend our freedoms. We’re not going to stand for the silencing of dissenting voices.  We must continue to encourage those voices and begin defending them against the tyranny of Trump. It’s the new cost of doing business in the US.
