We have to save our Christmas. As a Coptic Orthodox Christian, we celebrate Christmas on January 6th and January 7th. Everyone has freedom to practice their religion. It’s not fair for other religions to have off from school and work and not Coptic Orthodox Christians.

We as the extended family used to gather and cook to celebrate the nativity. However, this year ( for the first time) we’ve to cancel this since everyone has to work on the day of the Nativity which is on Tuesday the 7th. We’re sad that we have to cancel our celebration and go to work as if it’s any other day not a feast.

It’s important for us a Christian orthodox and as an immigrant to practice our religion and holiday with our family to keep our faith and pass it to our children, when we take the orthodox Christmas Day off our children will know and feel and live the moments celebrating the Nativity and to observe our holiday properly. Thank you

Making Election Day a federal holiday in the United States could increase voter turnout by providing citizens with more time to vote without work conflicts. In the 2020 election, 13.1% of registered voters who didn’t vote cited being too busy or having scheduling conflicts as the reason. Additionally, such a holiday would celebrate democracy, turning voting into a nationwide event. This approach aligns with practices in other countries and has significant public support; a Pew Research Center survey found that nearly 80% of Democrats and nearly 70% of Republicans favor making Election Day a federal holiday.
