I have proudly signed this petition and stand firmly behind saving the Lord Hanuman Temple in Jersey City. The temple has been a cornerstone of our community—providing spiritual solace, cultural enrichment, and unity to thousands of residents over the years. For the community, this temple represents more than bricks and mortar; it is a place where traditions are nurtured, families come together, and generations connect to their roots.

It is deeply disappointing and morally troubling that BCB Community Bank, after previously assuring support for the temple, has chosen profits over principles, threatening to dismantle a community institution that has given nothing but positivity and hope to countless individuals. The decision to unfairly raise rent and pursue eviction demonstrates a disregard for cultural sensitivity, community values, and trust. Such actions reflect poorly on the bank’s ethical responsibilities and reveal a lack of respect toward the community that has supported it for years.

I urge BCB Community Bank to reconsider its actions and remember the importance of integrity and community support, values that should matter far more than short-term profits. Let us stand united and ensure the survival of our cherished temple, which embodies our faith, culture, and collective spirit.
