After nearly a week of dedicated efforts to prevent the eviction of the Shri Hanuman Temple of Jersey City—initiated by Bayonne Community Bank—we are grateful to announce that we have reached an agreement for temporary relief from the eviction notice. This pause allows us time to resolve the remaining pending matters before finalizing the lease for the temple.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every individual who played a role—directly or indirectly—in supporting this common cause.
Special thanks to our elected officials for their unwavering support, including:
Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop
Commissioner William O'Dea
Councilman James Solomon
Councilman Yousef Saleh
Councilman Richard Boggiano
Councilwoman Jacqueline Weimmer
Councilwoman-at-Large candidate Mamta Singh
City officials from the Zoning, Planning, and Building Departments
We are especially thankful to the leadership of BCB Bank, including:
CEO Michael Shriner
Board Member Tom Coughlin
Jimmy Rizzaro
Branch Manager Jignasha Patel
We also extend heartfelt appreciation to our temple trustees, volunteers, and priest, who have worked tirelessly, day and night, to protect our temple.
In the coming days, we remain hopeful that we will resolve all outstanding matters and reach a permanent and peaceful resolution.
We’re also pleased to announce our upcoming temple celebrations:
Hanuman Jayanti on Saturday, April 12
Live Sunderkand Recitation by Guruji Ashwin Bhai Pathak at Exchange Place on Sunday, May 3 at 5 PM
Thank you once again for your love, compassion, and continued support.
Jai Shri Ram.
God Bless You, and God Bless America.
