I have lived here since it was a dirt road and dead end. We were three houses from the dead end now it's a thoroughfare and a drag strip night and day never see police going anyone over. The commissioners have already allowed the school at the end of canova road to overgrow without any thought for the people that live here I have to weave through neighborhoods in the mornings just to go to work because the road is so backed up from people dropping their children off, in the afternoon cars are backed up past my house waiting to pick their kids up no buses and no parking lot for dismissal. My gate has been damaged in my mailbox knocked over just for people turning around to avoid the traffic. It's a shame this is even being considered and no one cares!

Clay County's moto is "Small towns, Big Passions". That is what those who live here wish to maintain. After the massive development of Sandridge and Russel road there has been major impact to the daily lives of the citizens of Clay County. Mainly due to the lack of proper infrastructure for travel and shopping for these new homes. Citizens of Clay County such as myself do not want further impacts like this to our small towns because that is what we wish it to remain. SJCA and I know our school drills it i to parents about respect and virtues as a privilege to use the road due to no bus, we use after school care to minimize the impact to the community as other parents do as well. The road is starting to breakdow. In some weak spots but to be expected, I am against a total rezo e but would like to see a maybe a double lane to help with school traffic and a bike lane. It is absolutely the prettiest scene and we love it. It reminds me of old hwy 20 in Interlachen, Florida. Now a evacuation route to Gainesville, it’s all gone. Let’s not do that! Let’s keep the beauty of the road but also enhance it for ease of growing area.

Several times per year water already remains on old hard road for days after storms. Further development in this area will also exacerbate the traffic congestion which is particularly bad when schools let out.

While I can’t speak on these particular builders, I can comment from my own experience that builders are building up land and raising it to an elevation that it floods local homes. My home is in jeopardy because it is the lowest property on my street and builders have no regard for the existing homes. The animals aren’t the only ones being forced out of their homes. The county also needs to reconsider approving any further rezoning of properties to build HOAs, townhouses, and apartments.

Neither can Town Center Blvd. We already have massive traffic issues where Town Center Blvd meets 220 near Chic Fil A and at the intersection of East West and Town Center. We also have traffic issues where Old Hard meets Canova when schools get out. We need to STOP ADDING MORE PEOPLE to an area that isnt built out for that. If these things continue to happen we need new leadership.

The wildlife, the slow winding drive, the life of walkers, runners, bikers was something I looked forward to. When the boys got highschool, playing basketball at Fleming Island High, again that drive was a calm before the action. Our green spaces only enhance the minimal homes on Old Hard Rd. More homes makes this just another blah neighborhood, with nothing unique. Not to mention, why would we do anything to the homes of all the wildlife who call Old Hard Rd green space home?! People choose those areas for that reason, not to watch more homes go up and make that beauty go away. Please leave Old Hard Rd alone.
