This carnage is horrific. It’s the reason Bob and I moved out of our beloved Ocean Park. Over development has destroyed the quaint special beach neighborhood.

Please consider purchasing credits instead of going ahead with the project that will destroy so much. I've walked my dogs here many times. Leave it wild as it is and instead of destroying, maintain and help the area to remain wild.

Why destroy what we have? What about the birds that use the trees? We need green for all the people of VABeach. This area is Ocean Parks legacy to our neighborhood and the entire city.

I strongly believe in protecting wildlife, including diverse bird species and vital oyster beds, rather than prioritizing the profits of the greedy. Destroying these trees would have devastating consequences for the ecosystem and the countless creatures that depend on it.

The “rushing” is almost as concerning. The public needs time to review and provide feedback. I won’t pretend to know how all this works, but there are so few nature areas as it is. This seems excessive. How is this supposed to help the area? The signs at PHP INSTRUCT to preserve the natural habitats. If this is allowed, what’s next? Houses? They keep trying… Please push back! This is a very beloved area!

It makes absolutely no sense that flood mitigation credits would be issued for a project that would completely destroy the current habitat. PHP has existed in its current state for several decades now. There is no need whatsoever to return it to tidal wetlands. It doesn’t help the watershed at all. Also, has the city even begun to consider that over 100 students attend programs at the Brock center several days a week? They currently park on Marlin Bay Drive right in front of the only entrance into PHP for construction vehicles. Where do they plan on sending all of these kids to park during this project? The Brock center parking lot doesn’t have anywhere near enough parking. There seems to be a clear lack of planning and the project just needs to be cancelled. PHP is enjoyed by thousands of residents year round, myself included. It’s a beautiful area and should be left alone for all to continue to enjoy for years to come.

I care bc I grew up on a wetland in NY which I just loved! It was almost bought by a developer and she stopped them as an old lady with a cane and then neighborhood rallied and SAVED IT! Called Udalls Cove and instilled a great love for DUCKS in my heart for watching them everyday!

I’ve been going to pleasure house point for 30+ years. Since it was known to me as just “the sand flats.” The history of this site stretches far beyond what most folks are aware. Pleasure house point and the surrounding first landing state park was the last hide out of black beard and his crew. Nov 1718 was black bears last stand which all began right there at pleasure house point. Researching the story is half the fun so I won’t ruin it but let’s save this history

Money comes and goes but destroying PHP doesn’t. It will never recover. PHP does not need to be turned into a construction site. We do not need more condos - build elsewhere - not here. This is the home of so many animals, an area where families gather to admire the beauty of PHP and explore, an area that we call home. It’s disturbing this is even a discussion.

It is clear that the City of Virginia Beach has a disregard for both its citizens and its natural environment. It is an area that I myself and many others citizens treasure. The citizens do not treasure development in fragile and important ecosystems. Pleasure House Point provides many ecosystem services that will be DESTROYED!!! That includes flood mitigation, minimization of sediment and nutrient pollution, as well as providing countless health benefits for us! Destroying Pleasure House Point is not being done for the sake of constituents. It is being done out of greed.
