I had the misfortune of being one of her patients due to chronic pelvic pain and periods. She REFUSED to believe I had a gynecological issue, referred me to other specialists who ALL disagreed with her, reluctantly performed a laparoscopic and said “I was normal” and FAILED to diagnose my adenomyosis and endometriosis. She said I was just seeking attention, overweight, seeking parental validation and “too busy” to guess what was wrong with me. She should NOT be speaking about
This is disgraceful for such a well respected institution to be perpetuating such dangerous misinformation. When I had periods bad enough to have fainting and nausea, it was because I was dangerously low on iron and my body couldn't handle losing anymore of it. It is most definitely not normal symptoms of a regular period, and is a sign that something is very wrong with the body. You don't need a medical degree to know that, and the fact that someone who does have one is spreading such lies is shameful.
Endo has ruined my life and surgery has been the only thing that even remotely helped. None of the other band-aid fixes (birth control) and scans like ultrasounds and mri’s worked or picked up my (stage 4) endo. When are we going to stop gaslighting patients and the world (especially writing this into the guidelines). The medical system is failing women with endometriosis.
