The cost of electricity is a pressing issue for many households and businesses worldwide, with rising energy prices impacting budgets and sustainability efforts. Petitions on this topic often aim to address issues such as exorbitant electricity bills, unfair pricing practices, and lack of renewable energy options. One petition calling for transparent billing practices has garnered widespread support, highlighting instances of unexplained charges and discrepancies in electricity bills. Another petition advocating for subsidies for households using renewable energy sources underscores the importance of transitioning to more sustainable power alternatives. By exploring and supporting these petitions, individuals can contribute to the push for fairer electricity pricing and a more environmentally friendly energy landscape. Join the movement to create affordable and eco-conscious solutions for powering our communities.
As a family of 6, the quick increase of our electric bill, which basically doubled, has taken a hard hit to our families financials. We should be able to have affordable electricity as a basic human right to be able to survive. We shouldn’t have to struggle to pay our electric bill.
I have always been extremely contentious when it comes to making sure my lights, appliances, ect. are turned off when not in use. I keep my house cool in the winter, 64 degrees and warmer in the summer, 78 degrees to help keep my electric bill costs down. But now my costs are rising a lot and it's not due to increased usage. I am a single mother and a teacher. The increased costs have been a strain for my family. Please take action and reduce these electric bill costs.
This should not be part of the electric bill and there should be a cap if a part of anything. If someone wants to donate, they can donate, but this was truly forced. This should not be forced. There is no way to budget for this monthly. The people who didn't pay should have to pay their bills. Since when do people who pay their bills get punished. The PB that we already have paid should be a tax right off...is it? I had a heating problem on top of a huge public benefit portion I had to pay on top of my already existing bills. THIS unfair situation has to stop. CT tax payers should not be having to foot these bills. PLEASE HELP US! This is truly a sad situation monthly for many people. How could a politician do this to the CT people! REMEMBER your vote come November!
In the past three months the public benefits charge on my bill has gone up 300%. We should not have to pay for Millstone or those who took advantage of the shut-off moratorium that the state decided to needlessly extend for four years. If you do not fix this all of you will find yourselves out of office come the next election and that includes both parties. We have had it with you, PURA, and Eversource extorting us while Eversource posts record profits that they share with elected officials.
We are a 2 income family in CT and we are struggling. We are constantly trying to make
ends meet and we can’t afford additional charges on our already soaring electric bill. The people of CT can’t afford this! Cut the waste and spending and stop abusing CT residents with charge after charge.
I’m a senior living on a fixed income. I can’t afford to pay these high bills. It’s so unfair! The electric bill is high enough then you add all these extra charges. We sit in the dark, and the bill is still high. I gave up my pool, can’t afford to run it anymore. It’s so sad! I barely used my air conditioner this past summer. I bet the people who didn’t pay their bills, gave up nothing!
Please Lower our bills!!!
Our electric bill was $1200 last month. There’s only my husband and I and only use 4 rooms in our home. Kitchen, dining room, living room and bathroom. We shut the heat off in the other rooms and still $1200. It comes down to medications or heat. We’re both on SSDI and stretch expenditures ie: food, eyeglasses etc.
Something has to be done to decrease the electrical bill.
