With a student who does well in school but also suffers from a Chronic illness, this is really unfair. Some absents are just unavoidable.

As a mother myself teaching stranger danger is an obvious one but educating a teenager on these warning signs is often overlooked because violence in relationships and grooming seems rare until it’s someone you know.

Every time I move up to a new school, from elementary to now, the experience is ruined due to changes made by the board, and I will not allow it to be ruined any longer.
Lunch and Learn is such an important aspect of ANY school, regardless of whether it's elementary, middle, or high school, and frankly, it should be added to ALL. The fact that we are TAKING IT AWAY is harmful and insensitive to your students.
Reading people's stories in this comment section alone is an insight into why it should never be removed, but instead you want to limit your students from being strung. You want success from your students, but you take away what little we have to be the person you want.
This choice shows a lack of consideration for your students and deserves an apology, an explanation, and dedication to make a change.
This will fail. It will bring students with lower grades and less morale and create more stress. I urge the School Board to rethink this for the benefit of their students.

I don’t know how I’m going to make up those same assignments this year. As a rising senior, I was looking forward to having the ability to leave school for lunch, especially because I’m not able to get into the senior lounge since it has stairs. Now, pretty much the only senior privilege, the lounge, is something I can’t access. Please ASHS Staff rethink this.

If these new dress code rules were to be implemented, I fear the schools in the district would lose funds from parents enrolling their kids. These rules are going against the freedom to choose what students wear or their actual appearance in general. I myself would say I’m a creative student; I wear baggy clothing, have dyed hair, a few piercings. If anything, GCCISD should be focusing on our safety. A child DIED at my school and it is still a issue because that school had barely done anything and it could’ve been easily prevented! But no, they want to worry about the male students wearing skirts, putting makeup on or even having long hair? This is very discriminatory to the LGBTQ+ community. (a reason to be sued as well) We all need to speak up. The first amendment is freedom of speech after all.
