Due process is a fundamental legal principle that guarantees individuals fair treatment under the law. This topic is significant as it safeguards against unjust treatment by the government, ensuring that individuals have the right to a fair trial, legal representation, and protection of their rights. Recent events have highlighted the importance of due process in various contexts, from criminal justice reform to immigration policies.
Petitions under this topic often focus on advocating for the protection of due process rights for marginalized communities, such as immigrants, minorities, and those affected by the criminal justice system. One petition with over 100,000 signatures calls for ending indefinite detention of immigrants without due process, emphasizing the need for fair treatment and legal recourse for all individuals.
Join the movement to uphold due process rights for all individuals and challenge unjust practices. Your involvement can make a difference in ensuring justice and fairness in society.
I strongly believe that Claressa Shields should face serious review regarding her boxing license due to repeated behavior that reflects recklessness, aggression, and a disregard for personal accountability outside of the ring. Professional athletes, especially trained fighters, carry a heightened responsibility to conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger others or promote intimidation and violence.
When someone with professional combat training allegedly uses their physical abilities to intimidate, bully, or place their hands on others outside of sanctioned competition, it raises legitimate public safety concerns. No innocent person should have to fear being harmed by an individual who possesses that level of training and influence.
This is not about attacking someone personally — it is about accountability and protecting the public. Athletes are role models, and their actions matter. I believe appropriate disciplinary action should be taken before another individual is potentially harmed. Professional fighting skills should never be used as a tool for bullying, aggression, or reckless behavior outside the sport itself.
Claressa needs help and I feel this would be one of the many steps to lead her in the direction that would be better for not only her personal identity but her self image.
I am submitting this petition out of concern regarding the public behavior and conduct of Claressa Shields. While her accomplishments in boxing are undeniable and deserving of recognition, I believe her repeated involvement in public altercations, hostile exchanges, and aggressive behavior outside of sanctioned competition reflects poorly on the sport and the image of professional athletes.
Boxing naturally involves promotion, competition, and trash talk. However, there should be a clear line between entertainment and inappropriate conduct. Public incidents involving physical aggression, disrespect toward others, and ongoing social media hostility create a negative example for young athletes and fans who look up to professional fighters as role models.
My concerns are not based on race, complexion, or personal dislike. As a dark-skinned African American woman myself, I want to make it clear that this is not a colorism issue. This is about accountability, professionalism, and the standards that should be upheld by individuals representing the sport on a global platform.
Claressa Shields frequently presents herself as an advocate and representative for African American women and women in sports. Because of that, her public behavior carries influence. Unfortunately, the constant negativity, public disputes, and apparent lack of accountability overshadow her athletic talent and damage the positive image many women athletes work hard to build.
This petition is not intended to erase her accomplishments or attack her personally. Rather, it is a call for disciplinary action and accountability to reinforce that repeated hostile or aggressive conduct outside the ring should not be normalized or rewarded within professional sports.
Athletes, especially champions, should be held to standards that reflect leadership, discipline, and respect for others. Without accountability, this behavior risks becoming accepted as the example for future generations of fighters.
I respectfully ask that the appropriate organizations review this pattern of conduct seriously and take the necessary disciplinary action to protect the integrity and reputation of the sport.
Soheil Mostajabian has posted “Death to America” on social media, defended the Islamic regime, and insulted protesters who were killed in January 2026, while thousands of people have lost their lives.
Such statements raise serious concerns about supporting extremism and disrespecting victims, especially while living in a free country and benefiting from democratic values
