i truly, feel for this student, my daughter went through similar situations, and was harmed by the schools actions as well of closing schools. She found joy and love through music and was able to keep the same support with music for 4 years, and it helped her so much, that she was able to have that consistency, but now,we are in the same place we were in years ago, with trying to find music and arts on a consistent basis, but thankfully she has a family member with instruments, but the schools needs to adopt this policy because if not, i've been following, how they've already taken 1 million in music away, even if allowed, this is not acceptable, and creates distrust from parents and caregivers, especially when the childs in special education with unique challenges. Where's there's funding without staff, they will continue to take, so I URGE EVERYONE to SIGN THIS PETITION and SPEAK UP AT BOARD MEETINGS, I have been following on facebook, tower of love foundation, and Following the meetings.... I pray this resolution is brought forth, Our childrens lives are WORTH IT and the time is TIcking....
OUr disabled students must be treated fairly and proviided joyful experience while being provided with the most safest environments with proper supports,
Our Disabled Black Students have suffered irreversable harm, and if the district don't act now, they will never recover or even regain all of the loss they have suffered due to abuse from neglect to their overall well being.
I personally know what it feels like to have a disabled black son, and if the district can Make it better for them, ALL children will benefit. I say NO MORE SUFFERING to our Children, the District MUST MAKE THEM SAFE!!
