I went walking with my dog on a leash and 1 year old in a stroller. A coyote came out of nowhere and grabbed my dog. I pulled the leash and screamed to get it away while also trying to protect my child, but it all happened in a matter of seconds, my dog was gone. This shouldn’t have happened to me, or anyone that has also lost pets due to these circumstances. Keep our neighborhoods safe!
I rescued a newborn kitten 10 years ago. She was a house kitten, but of course, as she got older, she was curious to go outside every now and then she would sneak out and we would have to coax her back in. She loved to climb the tree in front then she would come back down and come in the house, another cat was hit by a car and someone brought him to me paralyzed on his back legs I fed him and nursed him back to health. I would let them out and bring them back in the same day. Why shouldn’t they enjoy the sunshine and the trees, and lay around in the grass , of course they were both killed by coyotes a pack of them on our street that could not be scared away no matter how loud we screamed or threw things at them they need to be taken out of neighborhoods. We can’t even have our pets and enjoy outdoors . I have a mini goat and have to round up all my animals just to leave the house for work . Please relocate these predators they cannot coexist with humans because we are afraid of them !
It’s not just at night, it’s during the day as well. They’ve gotten used to the whole “scare them away” tactic and now don’t fear us. I was walking with my five year daughter and seen one eyeing her. After chasing it and making noise to scare it away with no reaction from it, I had to hide in a nearby liquor store until it left. They are not only a threat to our pets, but to us and our children as well.
The city tells us to scare them away because they want to do nothing about it. What if someone helpless comes across a coyote, like a child or an old person? What about people out walking their dogs? We’re living in cities, not mountains, they don’t belong here! How dare my cat Chester die from this. This is a horrible problem created by our own government, so it is there job to fix it, not ours.
My cat got loose. Every day and night I’ve been looking for him. Only to see on a neighborhood app that a cat matching his description was found mauled to death near me. I’m sick and heartbroken having to deal with this, while also seeing others dealing with it as well. These are our babies. Enough is enough.
A coyote tried attacking my child while he played in the front yard (during the afternoon too, I thought they only come out at night). I grabbed my son and did everything that I was told to haze them, yet there was no reaction from it. Called the police, and they didn’t do anything about it. Next few days a coyote, probably the same one, killed my dog in my backyard. During the afternoon again. Reported to the police, nothing done again. I’ve lived here a majority of my life, and it’s never been this bad. Frustrated at people’s cats getting eaten at night also. They are a huge threat that’s only going to get worse.
