Hello Petition Supporters,

My name is Alexandra, and I'm on the Civic Engagement team at Change.org. Our team works to connect petition starters and supporters with the public officials who have the power to act on the issues you care about.

I spoke with the office of Fullerton City Council Member Ahmad Zahra (District 5) about the growing concerns raised in this petition regarding coyote activity in North Orange County.

Council Member Zahra’s office shared that the City of Fullerton has been actively working on this issue for more than a year in partnership with Orange County Animal Control. The city has a senior administrative analyst who serves as the on-staff expert on coyote management and coordinates ongoing communication with county animal control officials.

For residents dealing with individual incidents or immediate safety concerns, the city recommends contacting Orange County Animal Control directly at (714) 935-6848.

Officials also emphasized that the Fullerton City Council is open to continued public feedback and encourages residents to attend meetings and share their experiences. Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday of each month, with the next meeting scheduled for October 21, 2025. Public comments take place at the beginning of each meeting, and speakers are allotted up to three minutes each.

Residents who prefer to write can email their thoughts directly to all council members at councilmembers@ci.fullerton.ca.us to ensure their input is shared with the full body.

For those who want to learn more about past city actions on this issue, the Council previously discussed coyote management during the April 2, 2024 meeting, which included a staff presentation, draft legislation, and an outline of next steps. You can view that meeting video and supporting materials here: Fullerton City Council Meeting – April 2, 2024.

Thank you to everyone continuing to raise awareness, share experiences, and advocate for proactive wildlife management in Fullerton and North Orange County.
