I echo the call for the improved services age support, for all Australians. Victoria also has no services or support for those of us suffering with Long COVID and / or COVID vaccine injury, and its unwanted bedfellows (POTS, ME/CFS, Fibromyalgia, MCAS etc. ).
This project is detrimental to our community and its people!
Our community has a significant number of aging individuals, as well as people who could greatly benefit from the therapy offered at the hydro pool. This project would provide essential rehabilitation services for both these groups, which are in dire need. The hydro pool has been proven to be beneficial for rehabilitation from various conditions, including illnesses, aging-related changes, and chronic pain. There are no negative consequences associated with this project.
This project is detrimental to our community, due to the amount of aging people in out community, needing the hydro pool for rehabilitation from illness or aging changes or constant painful symptoms of terminal or temporary illness
Body care therapy pool has kept me active and controlled my arthritic pain.
I would probably be on disability pension by now without it.
Lately the overflow from those who usually would use the hydropool at the Albany campus just exaggerates the great need for Albany to get behind the reopening of Albany Campus hydro pool service.
Over the last decade, our non-profit organisation and many others have been dedicated to aiding those impacted by homelessness has witnessed an alarming deterioration of the situation. Instead of improvements, we find our communities struggling more severely than ever before.
Essential charities that have been the lifeline of our society are reaching their tipping points due to lack of sufficient funds and support, with many forced to shut their doors.
In addition the price of rent is no longer sustainable for a single person, elderly or disabled or centrelink recipients
This has grave implications: an increase in illnesses being seen, more tent cities built for shelter, and the mental health statistics rising drastically.
Essentially keeping people stuck in a loophole of poverty without choice, Homelessness Legislation and Authority needs to improve for Australians
TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A difference
When I was first diagnosed my doctor sent me to physical therapy three days a week. I tried it and while able to do the initial exercises including bicycling, I would have a PEM crash and end up cancelling my next appointment. This happened so often the physical therapist fired me and said they would only see me on a walk-in basis if they had availability. I didn't need to go back. Going through this process proved the existence of PEM and I've been careful ever since to avoid pushing past my energy envelope as much as is possible.
