Florida is a state where families are exposed to increasing heat index on a yearly basis, which means increased need for basic utilities such as AC, to allow for livable temperatures. I have heard many families indicate they have had to pay over 500$ per month. Florida also provides little opportunity for low cost energy efficient upgrades like solar panels, windows, doors, and other factors that could reduce the cost of some of the utilities within the state. With cost of living having skyrocketed in florida overall in comparison to the national average, many families could benefit from some reduction of utility bills.

Literally watching the jets spray over LA at this very second I'm signing the petition... such a disgusting and evil thing to put on all of us citizens... this has to stop. The chemicals make it nearly impossible to grow your own healthy food garden and clearly changes the weather patterns throughout the year.

I used to live nextdoor to this tree. The former owner who recently passed away used to swing his young niece off of a low hanging branch in a baby swing. When she passed away years later as a young adult he preserved that branch as a memorial to his niece. I believe that branch is still there today if it has not been removed since the owner passed. This is a magnificent tree that was loved and protected for many years. It would be devastating if it was removed. Please do the right thing and save this magnificent tree. It is a symbol of love and meant so much to the former owner.

As humans with short life spans we are simply passing through, we should be conscious of the natural world and should work to protect it as it is only possible for us to exist, because nature exists. Plants are not accessories or nuisances and should not be treated as such.

Please! Do not let anyone, especially someone from outside the area, come in and create wreckage. By removing these historic trees they will destroy part of the local environment that will be gone forever...for what?? A single family home that can be reconfigured to keep the trees. If you don't want trees, then buy a property without them!

Just think of all the generations of Seattleites this tree has presided over. Giants like this are irreplaceable so let’s save the ones we have!

One of the absolute best aspects of Seattle is the gorgeous greenery and the city's general commitment to maintaining its natural areas; one of the most frustrating aspects of the city are those handful of citizens, developers, and council members who've been waging war against this maintenance despite the citizenry's best efforts. This tree is a gorgeous fixture of my neighborhood and a symbol of everything this city does right; destroying it would serve as a clear symbol of everything we are doing wrong. Please preserve this tree.

There are more pros than cons with keeping a tree like this. So close to earth day we should be putting in the work to keep more trees. Even if replanted the benefits of the new tree won’t be close to “Grace” for another 160 years at least.

I've admired this tree since I was a little girl living a few blocks away. As I grew older I would take visitors to come see it. It has a presence much more valuable than a driveway, and neighbors will mourn it longer than the new owners and developer probably anticipate. Please do the right thing and don't have the first act in moving into the neighborhood be carving up its character.
