Thanks to YOU, we reached 851 signatures calling for proper infrastructure and emergency access planning in our community. We have already made a powerful statement (even if it doesnt feel like it), and we are just getting started.

Since launching this petition, Zebulon Crossing was approved by the county, despite serious unresolved concerns. This development directly impacts the very issue this petition was created for- our overburdened roadways and lack of safe evacuation options.

➡️ The county has no plans to conduct a proper evacuation study.

➡️ Any traffic improvements tied to Zebulon are ONLY designed to serve that development - not the community at large.

➡️ And perhaps most concerning: the Zebulon land is contaminated. Despite public statements suggesting otherwise, official environmental reports recommend additional testing... especially before  parks are built (some of these zones have strict regulations that state "NO USES THAT COULD EXPOSE CHILDREN TO CONTAMINANTS". Even if the boundary lines for construction are moves outside of these zones, are we really comfortable with our children playing anywhere NEAR this level of contamination?

📣 Because of this, we are joining forces with those opposing the Zebulon project to demand:

Transparency about the environmental risks
Proper evacuation and traffic planning
Accountability to existing studies — including those that recommend more land testing for community safety
