I am sad to inform you that this is not the only medically unnecessary procedure being performed on children. many intersex children (those born with atypical genitalia) are subjected to surgery while very young, solely for aesthetic reasons, often after a medical professional has pressured their parents to agree to have their child's parts unnecessarily operated on to look "normal". it is a sad reality and intersex adults say it also causes them problems like you have described. 100% support your fight for children's bodily autonomy.
