CRPS is a monster of a disease to treat. Ketamine literally saved my life. Pain medication almost took my life! It was hell getting off of them & I will never go back. Medicare & insurance companies need to start paying for these life saving infusions. The suicide rates are sky rocketing, we have an life saving treatment yet they won’t pay.
I am a proud Mom of a beautiful, talented, loving grown daughter. And I am sooo blessed that I can enjoy life with her. I was very close to losing her, a outcome I could not have lived through. Depression and anxiety has robbed her of so many years. She had difficulty in school and working. As a parent you are willing to do anything to save her. I don't think there is a medication we didn't try. Not to mention the number of therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist and Hospitalizations. My daughter was the one that discovered the research on Ketamine. I saw an interview about a Veteran who had benefited so much. We found a place but after many appeals, insurance would not cover the 500.00 per treatment. So I needed to go into my retirement savings. Best decision I ever made. She has had 3 years of life she is so deserving of. And I have my daughter back. She's gone back to school, got married and has a great job. There is absolutely NO reason why this treatment can't be approved. I pray the people who have the power to save lives NEVER have to live through what we did. That said, the squeaky wheel of b bureaucracy needs to be oiled. There are so many beautiful souls that we lose everyday because we refuse to make this treatment available. Shame on them
Ketamine is the only treatment for my CRPS that gives me 80% relief. I pay $1100 out of pocket. Insurance should participate, including Medicare/ Medicaid.
