Furthermore, it fosters a welcoming environment for visitors and new residents, demonstrating that Wales values language learning and cultural understanding.
Eliminating this subject could significantly deter people from studying or visiting Cardiff. The Modern Languages department is a unique asset of Cardiff University, setting it apart from other institutions in the city. Its closure would be a devastating loss for both the university and the wider community.

If we let the university close it, myself and other welsh language pupils will not be able to study the course we want in our capital city, as well as making Wales the only country in Britain who’s capital university does not offer language degrees. Where is your national pride? Do you think it can only be earned on the football pitch?
