Camping at Tompkins campground is a family tradition for us. We have so many memories here and are so disappointed about the closure. It is so convenient because it is close to home and our kids enjoy camping there so much!
This is our favorite local campground! When we got our first camper in 2016 this was the first place we went with it. We spend the majority of our camping season there, both my kids have learned how to ride without training wheels and fish and about the wildlife. We are devastated to hear about the closure and hope they will reconsider!
I have camped at this place every summer since I can remember. My entire extended family loves staying here and feels safe letting their kids play and enjoy. This truly is my happy place. Please don’t let it close
Me and my family have been camping here for probably 10 or more years now and it has had a huge impact on us because it was close and convenient to our house and it was a good way to meet new people coming from all around.
As a native to Tioga county this is the one campground I grew up going to every summer and I want to continue that tradition with my children!! We had plans to visit the park at least monthly throughout the summer as it's local to home and an easy get away even if I'm on call for work I can still camp and make it into work for emergency coverage.
