NJ Transit needs to honor the service vacancy left by DeCamp. Only having service during rush hours and not on weekends is not a workable solution for those of us who go into NYC off hours and weekends.
Although I no longer live in the area, I went to school in Montclair and still have friends that live by. Reliable and abundant public transit would be a great benefit to the community. It was in Montclair where I first learned how to use public transit and it has shaped how I travel since.
Even if NJ Transit train service ran every other hour on the weekends it would be immensely helpful. It is highly inconvenient on the weekends, if one wants to go to the city, and one of the reasons why this area of NJ is so great is because of the proximity to the city. I end up driving from Montclair to Maplewood or South Orange because even 20 minutes away they have hourly service. Why not here?
Since moving here in 2023 I was saddened to learn that there are virtually no options to get to NYC on the weekends. After having to travel to the city during the week and realizing how frequently the trains run and how great they are, I strongly believe we can do better than every 2 hours and I would absolutely be visiting NYC 3 to 4x more frequently. I am steps away from the Walnut St station and find it so frustrating to have to plan to drive and park elsewhere when we have trains running every 45 min during weekdays!
I take the bus everyday. .e my dad and my daughter. I'm in a wheelchair. I go to kennywood, carnegie science center, grocery shopping, restaurants. I go everywhere without busses id ve in the house all the time. If I need to go downtown to ssi or welfare or somewhere I'd never be able to go. My dad has to take a bus to the bank to put the money in I pay him back. I have never had my lucence ive used buses my whole life. My daughter had been on busses since she's been 2 days old. My dad can no longer drive.
I do not drive due to being on the Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as cars & gas being so expensive. Thousands of Pittsburghers, including the disabled, depend on riding the bus to survive. If PRT cuts bus services, jobs will be lost, businesses along the shuttered routes will lose money, and riders who depended on the buses will be left stranded.
Keep PRT services and Access transportation intact. The disabled especially and also many able people need these services to survive. I am blind, so I know firsthand. Thank you
Public transportation is an important need in brattleboro--especially for people dealing with financial insecurity, especially elders who can no longer drive and/or cannot afford a car.
I've been one of the first customers and Rico has always been friendly courteous and very professional I rely on these rides home from work due to my eyes not letting me drive and I don't get out until after normal bus hours he was always there and this business needs to continue if I had the $ I'd do it in a heartbeat 💓 id be really sad to see not just a ride home go but a good mans job too like help us keep him going for the second and 3rd shifters y'know not everyone is that lucky to have wheels n the micromoo saved me so much.
My family doesn't have transportation. With the micromoo we are able to spend money within the community, go to places that we haven't been before after regular bus hours stop.
If the micromoo stops we will be stranded, along with many other people. This is a vital service for many people.
