I’ve been seeing a lot of people mention transmission issues, and now at just 65,000 miles, I’m unfortunately starting to notice them in my own 2018 V6 AWD. I recently found this petition that brings together owners experiencing these same problems. It’s gaining momentum fast hopefully helps push for real support or expanded coverage from Toyota. They really need to step up not just for us owners but for their own reputation

2021 Highlander XLE AWD began emitting the whining noise at around 148,000 miles. Vehicle has always been maintained. I had my local Toyota dealership performed a transmission fluid service but that has not solved the issue. I was never told by the dealership about the TSB or told that there were any findings during the service. I discovered thr TSB through Reddit and found others experiencing the same issues. I see comments suggesting $11,000+ replacement costs because apparently the recommended fix is a while new transmission. I bought my Toyota brand new with 5 miles on it. I did so with the expectation that with routine maintenance that it would be reliable and retain some better than available value even when reaching high mileage. Now im just waiting for the worst to happen and hoping a recall or some other solution is provided by Toyota

My wife purchased a 2020 Highlander in October 2023. It was bought used with about 30,000 miles on it but in excellent condition. It was a major investment for our family but we trusted that Toyotas were built to last. Well, fast-forward 18 months and we're told we need to replace the entire transmission on the vehicle (after a $175 diagnosis). We were told that it will be about $8,000 out of pocket and "about a month" until the parts could be here. Parts actually took 2 months and I'm about to go ahead and have them make the repair. I'm pretty frustrated with the situation. I once believed that Toyotas are "built to last" but this is changing my mind. And I understand that lemons happen and mistakes are made but I've felt no attempt on Toyota's part to try to make it right - it was very difficult for them to even answer a basic time estimate question for me on when a repair could take place which was disappointing - especially for something that is no fault of my own (diagnostic report read that it was an internal failure which means it's nothing we could've affected). Again, we put a lot of money into this vehicle that we thought would be problem free for years to come so long as we serviced it as recommended. Now we're eating our words and homebound most of the time until this is fixed because our other vehicle (our lone vehicle, now) is not a "family" one.

I bought my 2020 Highlander specifically for Toyota’s reputation for reliability, so hearing about these UA80F transmission issues has me on edge. I haven’t experienced any problems yet (30K), but the thought of a major repair down the road is stressful. I hope it never becomes my reality, and Toyota addresses this issue.

I live in Virginia, and they've introduced an extra fee in registering cars you own. This extra fee is higher based on the MPGs of the car. For people who love and want to continue buying RAV4s in the future, this lack of option for a gas only version is forcing them into more fees, depending on what state they live. I appreciate this petition.

My mother bought a 2015 Ford Edge and in the two years she has owned the vehicle, we've had to replace the rear diff twice, PTU once, and the OEM one Ford installed just failed again within a year and less than 15k miles likely due to the seal, this is a problem in ALL AWD Fords and is absolutely insane there has been no recall. This car has been in the shop with drivetrain issues more than it's been on the road and costed upwards of 10k in repairs. Best part of all? Ford dealer told me it was a seized caliper and quoted me $1200 to replace it without even replacing the brake pads or bleeding them. Take it to the next shop down the road and they literally come out with a handful of metal shavings from the PDU. So not only does Ford make and sell defective cars, their overpriced service centers will withhold reporting that your transmission is basically shot without the PDU in an attempt to siphon $1200 out of us for brakes knowing the PDU was the issue. Really great experience Ford, hope yall go bankrupt.

The body kit makes a beautiful addition to the already sexy, sleek, and timeless design that Acura has built. The addition of factory accessories makes this car feel even more versatile and still has a unique appeal in today’s auto manufacturers design queues. Please start the production of all under spoiler kits front and back and sides. Much appreciated. A loyal Acura TL owner.

Tesla is more than Elon Musk. It is Martin Eberhard. It is Marc Tarpenning. It is Franz von Holzhausen. it is David Imai and Bernard Lee. Unlike Elon, non of them are harming the Tesla brand with divisive politics. I love my Teslas and appreciate that Elon helped the brand but it is time for him to move along. Make someone else the face of Tesla. There are lots of candidates, good candidates, to choose from. Do this now while Tesla can still be relevant in the battle to save the planet.

Pontiac has been a symbol for me personally that brings my family together. Having the '69 firebird my dad had growing up and having the last year model firebird myself as my first car brings memories that will last and to come.

I have a white 2018 Hyundai Sonata that started peeling 2 years ago. I’ve gotten no response from Hyundai dealers or Corporate regarding this issue! We should not have to pay the price for faulty workmanship! Stand by your products HYUNDAI!
