I do not now, nor will I ever, want Harry & MM to come to Australia. I especially do not want our taxpayer monies to pay for their “visit” as they are no longer working Royals. They chose to leave, The late Queen ll made it clear. No half in, half out. They chose out so that’s the issue solved right there & therefore we are not under any obligation to invite them & certainly not to fund them in any way whatsoever. I have no respect for their behaviour, together & separately, they are shameless. The treatment that both families have received at their hands is unforgivable & disgusting. Especially to the late Queen & Prince Phillip before they passed away! If you want Australia to support the Monarchy it would be in the best interest to ban them from coming. Australians DO have a choice to remain a part of the Commonwealth. Strip them of titles & then they can come, pay for their airfares, their accommodation, all of their expenses & be treated like every other tourist family who visits our beautiful country. A List Celebrities come here all the time & Aussies don’t bother them, they pay for their security but I doubt they need it as we are a respectful, polite people as a rule. I understand why they need security but THEY can pay for it! They are not who I consider our Royal Family. Cannot wait until The Prince & The Princess of Wales come! Oh, and the darling Princes & Princess. Also The King & Queen Consort too. Extremely welcome!!!
Petition Update: Silencing the Public While Charging $3,200
Headline: They are closing the comments, but we won't be silenced.
As our petition continues to grow, it has become clear that the organizers of the upcoming "Her Best Life" retreat are aware of the public’s frustration. Comments have been limited or disabled on their social media pages—effectively silencing Australians who are questioning why public funds should support this visit.
If this event is truly about "empowerment" and "community," why are they afraid to hear from the Australian public?
The Reality of the Visit:
• Exorbitant Costs: While Australians struggle with a record-high cost of living, this "girls' weekend" at the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach is charging up to $3,199 AUD for a VIP ticket. This is not a charitable mission; it is a luxury commercial event.
• Private Interests, Public Bill: Despite these being private, high-priced engagements—including Prince Harry’s paid speaking role in Melbourne—the burden of security and logistics often falls on the host nation.
• Treason against the Crown: We continue to stand by our belief that individuals who have actively undermined the Royal Family and the Monarchy have no place receiving state-funded hospitality in a Commonwealth nation.
We are calling on the government to provide a clear guarantee: Not one cent of taxpayer money should be used for the security, transport, or coordination of this private, commercial tour.
Please continue to share this petition. They can limit their comment sections, but they cannot ignore thousands of signatures.
We’re all doing it tough here with the cost of living. I would prefer for the money I work hard for in tax to go towards other struggling Australians, not celebrities on tour.
As stated in the petition and by other respondents, they are no longer working royals. Yet their visit would necessitate security at a level similar to before. So to me it is unfair to burden Australian tax payers for no sovereign "gain." On a side note I do not think the petition organisers do themselves a favour with the emblazoned "We don't want you here" message. That is a different matter altogether.
Harry and Meghan are not working Royals and therefore have no reason to have a funded trip to Australia ~ especially given Meghan’s prior behavior on her last trip here.
Her treatment of the Governor General, his wife and staff was appalling as was Meghan’s
expectation that she should be paid for greeting the thousands of people who stood in the searing heat.
