My wife suddenly committed suicide while taking levoquin this past sept. The month before she got rushed to hospital with convulsions , tremors and hallucinations caused from amoxcillin. All made from fungus that is why it is dangerous.

I had stents in then stents out before and after the surgery. I have been suffering terribly and unrelenting for more than 3 years and with Peripheral Neuropathy and Small Nerve Neuropathy in both feet and Achilles Tendinitis in both ankles of which I had surgery May 20th 2024 to correct this on my left ankle. Most days if not all of them I suffer 24hrs with stinging and numbness and now I feel like my bones in my left foot are all broken at the same time. I am losing my desire to walk as it is too painful. My entire life has been changed against my wishes. I will never be able to assist my grandbabies with any sports such as gymnastics which I was heavily involved in for 14 years of my life, beginning at age 4. I am happily married for 14 years. I know this has been very hard on him too. I now grunt and groan, whine and cry a lot!!! I can't even walk my beautiful dog, Cayo Amura Forever T. I have 18 grandchildren and 7 adult children + their spouses. I should be living, instead I'm in pain, on the couch or in bed wishing I was living! I need help. This is a grief like none Ihave ever experienced. I may have to file for disability and no one can live off that small amount of money. And... I hear it is difficult to get approved for. I'd rather work and help other people. On a side note... I was also prescribed Ciprofloxacin for my eyes and ears. I have all of my medical records including all of the tests that were ran and are still being done. I also have all 3 bottles of the Ciprofloxacin prescribed to me. I'm pretty much considered a living victom that needs to make Bayer, Johnson & Johnson and other companies aware of what they have done to me and my family and all of the millions of people and Doctors who were not properly made aware of the severity of these side effects and how they have devastated the lives of so many others. Jeez, (Manufacturers) just watch YouTube on this subject. It is WRONG!!!

Patients should be Informed of potential Permanent Debilitating Adverse Reactions! My 1st adverse reaction started two days after finishing Levofloxacin, more & more kept adding on throughout that 1st year. I even told the ortho dr. on each visit, as it hit another joint, I had just finished 10 day course of these antibiotics. He IGNORED my comment, as if I said nothing, which he worked for the same clinic as the prescribing dr., so there's that. Anyone Prescribing these And the Patients Need to be made aware of the risks associated with taking Fluoroquinolone Class Antibiotics!!

I was completely healthy before taking this antibiotic for 12 days, after being in the hospital for appendicitis and an infection in my stomach and colon. I have health with terrible tendon pain since taking the antibiotic. I have been suffering with chronic pain in my feet, shoulders, knees and hands. The pain can be overwhelming and very depressing. I just want to be well again and feel the way I felt before taking this toxic antibiotic! I want others to be aware of the dangerous side effects of this medication and the BLACK BOX WARNING; a warning that I was not aware of! I was so sick, and I trusted my doctors, taking the antibiotic they prescribed. Now I am suffering from the effects of taking it, for 3 years and 2 months now. I don’t have insurance, which makes my situation even worse.

In hospital began shaking uncontrollably and flare rash with IV. Given Ativan x3. 10 days later had withdrawal symptoms from steroid spray, Ativan dose interacting w fluoro. For several weeks nearly continuous vertigo that prevented walking without hitting the wall, hypotension, insomnia. Within three months red, swollen, itching tendons in palms and burning both feet continuously. Permanent changes to palms. Now have histamine reactions to cleaning products, drugs, alcohol, chemicals, perfume, paint, most foods. Although mobile, exercise and heat intolerant. Used to go to gym 5-7 days/week. It has significantly altered my life. People should be informed of these potential side effects. These drugs should NOT be prescribed for UTIs or sinus problems.

I experienced the severe adverse reaction in May. It resulted in multi systemic toxicity and devastation. I'm currently debilitated and disabled. The Fluoroquinolones severley injured and ruined my quality of life.

I asked all the right questions, but was told it was a very common medication and I should only expect stomach upset and maybe sun sensitivity. By the third day I felt like I had been hit by a truck. I could barely walk, had developed an abnormal heart beat, and developed severe hand tremors. When I returned the doctor claimed the symptoms I developed were unrelated and coincidental. Before taking Cipro I was in the best shape of my life and maybe six months away for becoming a black belt after five years of training. It's been three months since I took 4 doses of Cipro and I'm still in terrible pain and I have literally lost half my strength. I'd give anything to have my health and life back.

I could hardly walk to the bathroom during the first couple of weeks and wasn't warned at all about these possible side effects.

Prescribed Cipro and was in agony within 24 hours. Took her to a urologist,diagnosed with VRE. This time doctor said the VRE could be cleared with Doxycyclin. An OD said NO at her hospital. Took her to other doctors who did not want to disagree with the hospitalist She had two strokes, only recovered her speech and senses for two weeks before she died of organ failure. All within a year of original diagnosis. It's almost 20 years now and I am still angry.
