This petition means so much because I’ve done intercity rescue with seeing the majority of the cruelty being chained backyard dogs left to starve to death on an end of a chain. What a complete shame to call these dog owners “ humans” that I share this same title with. Outside of the basic physical needs of a dog, is the deep emotional connection is being a pack animal and connected to other beings. What a shame to deprive them of this. There needs to be stricter rules regarding outside dogs. It’s just down right inhumane. Prison sentences would change this drastically because obviously education, patience and understanding hasn’t been effective so far.
To finish, dogs should never be left outside in harsh or unsafe weather or temperatures. What is the point of having a dog if they going to be ignored? They are not mere objects but are living and feeling beings who have so much to offer given the chance.
Animals deserve a safe and loving home. Being tied out day after day is not safe or loving . We can do better. Please sign the petition. Pets are family members, not property.
Animals are just like children and babies in that they are completely innocent and completely vulnerable. They cannot protect themselves from any human intent on doing them harm. This is not someone punching a wall in anger; this is someone hurting in some horrible a sentient creature exactly like humans. We must protect them. We must strengthen our laws so hopefully people might think twice about causing them pain or death.
It took a hundred years to shut down the B&B circus for cruelty to animals. We still a long way to go shutting down road side zoos. The insanity of bringing a live tiger to a game has set us back even further. The university and the governor should be ashamed.
It would be cruel to subject any animal to such treatment. They are not here for our entertainment and pictures, they are living beings who deserve to be treated well and who's health is equally as important. Subjecting this tiger to one of the most stressful situations, being in one of the countries loudest stadiums, is not only extremely harmful for the wellbeing if this animal but also the safety of those who are handling him and the public (including children) who will be present. Tigers have an acute sense of hearing so how loud that stadium is to us (too loud most of the time) is all that much louder to
The bears last moments, frightened, chased, trapped up a tree with dogs barking and jumping at it just to be shot and fall to the ground. Fear and pure terror in its final moments. If anyone supports that its sick. If you must, sit in a tree yourself and wait, no bait, no dogs respect the animal and do it the right way.
Selling animals in stores when there are so many rescues and so many animals in need of homes is wrong. Think about if you were put into a cage with a small amount of food and water and people came and stared at you and tapped on the glass and music was blasting through the store. How is that not cruel? Animals despite everyone thinking so are not property and deserve to be treated with dignity and kindness.
Policies need to change to ensure this dog is cared for properly and loved. Dogs should not be kept on the patio for long periods of time, multiple days a week, or in extreme weather. INCLUDING rain. If the owners do not want to care for the dog, they should surrender to a rescue or non kill shelter.
