Please support the DACA program.
Without the DACA program hundreds of thousands of individuals that came here as young children without a choice or voice will live in fear of being deported to a country they do not know whether it be Mexico, Canada, Africa, or Asia.
This is our country. We have grown up in the United States of America and have learned to love the song of The Star-Spangled Banner at every football game. We have learned English, attended school, lived the American life.
Why throw these individuals to a place that is not known to them? Imagine if it was your child that was undocumented and in fear of getting deported to an unknown country.
We have grown to love the USA.
We need your help to stay.
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) is an American immigration policy founded in June 2012.
Although, deferred action does not provide lawful status, DACA allows certain undocumented immigrants, who entered the country as minors, to receive a renewable two-year period of deportation relief and eligibility for a work permit if they meet numerous requirements.
The requirements are that the applicants:
• Were under the age of 31 as of June 15, 2012;
•Came to the United States before reaching your 16th birthday;
•Have continuously resided in the United States since June 15, 2007, up to the present time;
•Were physically present in the United States on June 15, 2012, and at the time of making the request for consideration of deferred action with USCIS;
• are currently in school, have graduated from high school, have obtained a GED, or have been honorably discharged from the Coast Guard or armed forces;
•have not been convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor, or more than three misdemeanors of any kind; and
• do not pose a threat to national security or public safety.
Applicants will have to provide documentary evidence of all the required criteria. In addition, every applicant must complete and pass a biographic and biometric background check for every 2 year renewal.
DACA status will be revoked of those who are convicted of a felony offense, a significant misdemeanor, or more than three misdemeanors of any kind; and pose a threat to national security or public safety
When the program was announced in 2012, there was general support among the U.S. general public. Nearly two-thirds of U.S. adults (63%) approved of the program, according to a 2012 Pew Research Center survey.
The program currently benefits hundreds of thousands of individuals, many of whom have thrived thanks to the opportunities it provides. Under DACA, immigrants have been able to start businesses, pursue higher education, and contribute to their communities.
Extending work permits to DACA recipients translates into higher tax revenues. These revenues support vital programs such as Social Security and Medicare—even as undocumented immigrants are unable to access these and other social safety net programs.
DACA recipients join the workforce, pay into the social security system, pay taxes, and, live more fully as contributing members of society.
One of the best things that you can do as an ally is to become informed about the DACA program and help dispel some of the myths and misconceptions that surround it.

Petition to The Prime Minister, The Rt Hon Jacinda Ardern
Mataharehare is the proposed site for the National Erebus Memorial that is part of ‘Dove Myer Robinson Park’ at 85 Gladstone Road, Parnell. We are calling for this location to be re-thought.
Mataharehare is the wrong location for the proposed Erebus memorial for two reasons.
1. Mataharehare/Dove Myer Robinson Park needs to be protected for its irreplaceable intrinsic value just as it is:
a. Mataharehare is a tāonga of Tāmaki Makaurau. It is an ancient Pā site and home to a notable and majestic 180 year old Pōhutakawa that is a tūpuna.
b. It is also a small, beautiful and beloved central city park, used by whānau, joggers, dog-walkers, picnickers and tree-climbing children. It is a joyous place. It is an inappropriate site for a solemn commemorative memorial of the scale envisaged for the Erebus Memorial.
The vast proposed memorial includes 534m2 of earthworks and a 17 metre long, 8 metre high double-walled concrete and steel structure that would cut through the heart of the last vestiges of whenua with an uninterrupted view of the Waitematā.
The proposed development at Mataharehare would pierce into the roots of the giant ancient Pōhutukawa. Invasive annual cutbacks back of the tree’s branches would also be required to maintain access to the structure. The development would destroy a rare, precious, natural remnant of the timeless past and a continued modern day source of wellbeing for all. There are other places to position the memorial without destroying this tāonga.
2. The site does not meet the needs of the Erebus families:
a. In a Colmar Brunton survey, 68% of descendants from the Erebus tragedy expressed the importance of a secluded, quiet location. Less than half approve of picnicking at the Memorial. Dove Myer Robinson Park is a high-use destination park for central Auckland residents and visitors. It does not meet the Erebus families' needs.
Now, Dame Naida has taken a stand to reminding us all about valuing what is important.
It is time to reflect. To respect what exists.
Mataharehare is calling to be protected for generations to come.
According to Erebus family member, Ms Margaret Brough, "My observation at the 2018 Erebus memorial is the majority of families were against it."
"I, along with many other non-Auckland residents, had no idea where that is. A noisy discussion started with many people from the floor standing up and objecting."
According to Dame Naida, “Erebus families advise that they do not want this memorial in this place. In recent days many have taken the time under their own volition to contact me about this personally.”
Dame Glavish urges for hui to achieve an outcome that upholds the mana of the Crown, the Treaty partner, all Tāmaki and the families affected by Erebus.
“Communication with local iwi has been unclear and not inclusive. All the facts have not been at hand to make a proper and informed decision.”

Petition to U.S National Park Services, Director of the U.S. National Park Service
The U.S. Virgin Islands National Park, in the Caribbean, gets many tourists from the mainland United States. It has beautiful bays and many sea turtles graze in the seagrass. People come with boats and moor them in the bays. But, unfortunately, people are harassing sea turtles at some of these bays. This means they pet, chase and ride turtles. This is against the law because sea turtles are endangered and protected and because being harassed harms them in many ways. This harm includes disrupting their eating, resting, and most importantly, nesting behaviors. These beaches are sea turtle nesting sites and very important to the conservation of these endangered animals. Many people still harass the turtles, possibly because there isn’t enough publicity about the law. The signs that are in existence are only on the beaches, and pretty small. I am petitioning for two things: larger signs on the beaches and signs on buoys near the mooring sites. The reason for signs on buoys is that many people are coming from the boats moored in the bay, and don’t see the signs on the beach. When I have enough signatures on this petition, I intend to submit this to U.S. National Park Service and its director.

In the last ten days, the Hindu community has been under attack in Bangladesh; a continuance of targeted acts of violence against minorities over many years. Temples like that of ISKCON among others were vandalized, Deities were smashed, puja pandals of Durga Devi were burnt, homes, shops and individuals were attacked and killed across several districts of the country.
The worldwide International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) community is shocked and saddened by the recent series of violent events directed against the Hindu minority in Bangladesh, including our own ISKCON temples and members.
ISKCON calls upon the Bangladesh government to take swift action to bring an end to the violence against minorities that has undermined the peace and well-being of Bangladeshi society and to take tangible steps to ensure the long-term safety and well-being of all Bangladeshi citizens.
That includes to:
1. Bring to justice the perpetrators of these recent terrible crimes. The criminals behind these murderous attacks must be held accountable and punished to the fullest extent of the law.
2. Take immediate, tangible, and substantial steps to provide security to minorities in Bangladesh, including Hindus, Christians, and Buddhists
This petition is a heartfelt request to the Bangladesh government and all the peace-loving people of Bangladesh and the world to kindly support the Hindus in Bangladesh and bring an end to the violence against minorities.
We request you to sign this petition and show your support for the Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh.Read more

Petition to President of the United States, United States Department of the Interior, Kamala Harris
Northern Rockies Wolves are still being killed as we speak. This hunting and trapping season alone 500 wolves were butchered in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming. This needs to end!
Why do governments throughout the US continue to allow the merciless hunting of wolves even though most of us support relisting them as an endangered species? One simple reason is that those in favor of their destruction speak their minds more often. Right now, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service is being flooded with comments from people who support eliminating wolves from the Northern Rockies, and the only way to prevent this from becoming a reality is for the rest of us to shout louder. We demand that the gray wolf is returned to endangered status –
please visit " https://bit.ly/USFWS_RelistWolves "
and join our call to save them today. U.S. Department of the Interior Deb Haaland Wolves of the Rockies Ami Vitale #Wolves #US #UnitedStates #Endangered #EndangeredSpecies
Wolves are crucial to the health of the ecosystems they occupy. After the government encouraged the extermination of wolves from Yellowstone in the 1920s, the deer and elk populations grew out of control. Swelling populations led to unsustainable grazing — which caused rampant soil erosion, the near disappearance of beavers, and population declines for antelope and foxes. The good news, for the country and for Yellowstone, is that when wolves were reintroduced in 1995, the ecosystem swiftly rebounded as wolves began to prey on deer and elk once more — which made room for all wildlife to flourish.
Mr President,We respectfully urge your administration to take responsibility for protecting Northern Rockies Wolves by swiftly reversing the Trump administration's actions.
