Petition to Drew Dilkens, City of Windsor Ontario, Mayor of Windsor Ontario

    Construct Drag Strip In Windsor

Hello everyone. Please read the entire thread. On behalf of myself and many car enthusiasts, we decided to make a petition to build a Drag Strip In Windsor Ontario. This will highly decrease all the illegal street racing, and shenanigans that has been going on for the past few years. With the Drag Strip built, I guarantee that everyone would go , pay the fees and race their vehicles legally. It will also bring lots of vehicles from other cities and will produce good money for the city of Windsor. Also the Drag Strip could have charity events , donations to local causes, and help out who are in need. Also bringing in fans across the province, family days and kid's day's. If you think this would be a great idea, please sign this petition and I'm hoping that I can discuss this with the Mayor of Windsor. Thanks everyone. Let's stop the illegal street racing and get it built. Please Do Not Send Any Donations. All money that is donated to this petition goes to change.org. It does not go to funding the build

Construct skate park in the lower mission of Kelowna

The kids in the Lower Mission, Ponds area, Kettle valley, and Crawford have to travel by bus, or vehicle to reach the skate parks in Kelowna. So most will result in skating the streets, getting kicked out and hassled by the community and security is an inconvenience for both the skater and the workers. Putting a skate park in the lower mission will give both kids and adults a safe space to pursue their hobbies and passions. Skateboarding has always been an escape from issues and misbehavior. Kids should be out skating then out causing mischief etc, having a place for more people to skateboard at will greatly increase the number of people encouraged to skate and also bring the current skaters out of the streets. When youth have nowhere to go and nothing to do, that is when they are ill-behaved if you give them something then the illicit behavior will decrease. Skateboarding gives a significant health boost, giving people something to do will get them to go out and do it. Not enough people want to skate simply because there is nowhere to do it. Skate parks can increase tourism in a city when a good skate park is made, a good amount of people will flock to try the park out for themselves.  Overall, having a skate park in the lower mission would have no downside, just benefits for the community, shops, skaters, and the city.

Petition to Prince William County Planning Commission, Prince William County Board of County Supervisors

Stop a Builder's Proposal to Construct 400 Homes at the PW Pkwy & Liberia Ave

Updated November 11, 2020: A builder wants to purchase 92+ acres of land at Prince William Parkway (PWP) and Liberia Avenue (the Kline Farm). Their plan is to build 250 homes (120 stacked townhouses (aka "condominiums"), 74 townhouses, and 56 single family homes), but that will require significant modification to the land's Prince William County (PWC) zoning, which currently only allows for homes to be built on 10 acre lots. The builder also wants to incorporate 145,000sq.ft. of commercial space to include a CVS and other retailers (businesses unknown). The builder would also leave ~24 acres undeveloped for public recreational/institutional uses to be built by the county. This plan causes numerous concerns: - To those of us who live here, it is irrefutable that the surrounding roads simply cannot handle the additional automobile traffic that these homes will produce (estimate: ~11,500 weekday trips per day). The builder has proposed to widen the PWP, make triple left lanes by the Harris Teeter, and add lights to surrounding roads. However, many of us are concerned about the safety issues this raises for cars and pedestrians. Additionally, it does not address other significantly impacted roads: Other portions of Liberia Ave., Route 28, Wellington Road, Yates Ford Road, and the town of Clifton. - It will significantly change the rural landscape of this section of PWC. In addition to the many homes that would be built on little to no lots, there are already plenty of businesses on Liberia Avenue and Wellington Road- more of the same is not desired. - Nearby residents are concerned about potential impacts on their well water. - Home values: Many are concerned that increased housing options in this area will reduce demand and drive home values down. - Schools: The school board issued a statement in October 2019 voicing its opposition to the plan. - Will local response teams (firefighters, police, ambulances) be prepared to handle the large number of additional residents? - What environmental impacts might a plan of this magnitude impose (not only the construction impacts and well water concerns, but what about our air quality with significantly more vehicle trips per day, and what about the Occoquan Watershed)? - If the county's Comprehensive Plan would allow for such development (and more), then the plan is not reflective of what the county's residents desire and should be amended rather than relied upon for making this decision. While the builder has tried to offer reassurance on many of the items of concern above, residents remain highly concerned. It seems inevitable that something will eventually be built on this land: We would ask that the zoning either remain the same, or be modified to accommodate 1-5 acre residential lots on the entire 92+ acres. If the builder’s plan does not align with your future vision of this section of PWC, please get involved in one or more ways: 1. Sign this petition.  2.  Attend the Board of County Supervisors' Public Hearing when it is rescheduled; please refer back to this page for updates. Attending this hearing is the most impactful way our community can stop the over-development of this land. Here is our chance to stop this plan from going forward: many of us will feel regret for not acting if we see bulldozers plowing through that land, watch 250 homes and hundreds of thousands of square feet of needless retail space being constructed, and endure further congestion on our already overly burdened roads. Thank you in advance for your support. --- For more information:  https://www.midcopw.net/kline-property.html https://greenrisks.blogspot.com/2017/11/environment-impacts-from-kline-farm.html https://www.insidenova.com/news/prince_william/prince-william-planners-approve-92-acre-kline-development/article_b0bb27ce-0c19-11ea-b29c-03299bbd3798.html Board of County Supervisors Email: bocs@pwcgov.org  County Planners Emails: SMeyer@pwcgov.org; RHorner@pwcgov.org Petition Organizer Email: KlineFarmPetition@gmail.com (please reach out if you would like to volunteer, donate, lend your talents, or otherwise support this grassroots effort!) Call to Government to construct a dual carriageway on the A1 from Gaborone to Francistown

So many lives have been lost on the A1. For years on end, there have been calls for a dual carriageway between Gaborone and Francistown. There have also been many road accidents along the AI national artery. It is accepted that road traffic accidents are one of the leading causes of death in Botswana. The government's take on such calls had always been premised on economic considerations rather than safety. The government has in the past argued that the size of traffic using the road does not justify the cost of constructing a dual carriageway. I believe that construction of the A1 dual carriageway will save a lot of lives.

    Petition to GCISD School Board

Construct gender neutral bathrooms in GCISD

A group of students in Grapevine Colleyville Independent School District realized we have no access to gender neutral bathrooms. We started asking around and noticed this was an issue at both highschools in this district. Gender neutral bathrooms are important because we have many non-binary students in this district who feel like they don’t have a place to use the bathroom. Gender neutral bathrooms also allow trans people who aren’t out yet to use a bathroom other than their biological sex. Currently we have gender neutral teacher bathrooms upstairs at Grapevine Highschool but no bathrooms for the students. Colleyville Heritage Highschool has no gender neutral bathrooms for students or teachers. We are working with students from both highschools in the district to persuade the administrators that it would be beneficial to provide all students with access to gender neutral bathrooms. Using these signatures we can prove to the administration that students in the district would like to have more representation and that gender neutral bathrooms should be added to both highschools. Please sign this petition so we can get the administrators in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD to make gender neutral bathrooms an option for our students! Thank you so much!

    Petition to Justin Trudeau

Construct a road from Powell River to Squamish.

Now that the Liberal red tide has swept across our nation and we have elected Justin Trudeau, let’s hope that just a few of the billions of dollars he has promised to Canadians in infrastructure spending, land right here in beautiful British Columbia. One potential project worth looking at would be a road linking the Sunshine Coast to Squamish. The cost of servicing these land-locked communities increases each and every year due to fuel, wage, and maintenance costs of an aging fleet of ferries. The only solution implemented so far has been to cut those very services, leaving thousands of people stranded in the process. We could embark on a new road to economic success through tourism. To do so will take some redistribution of tax dollars we currently spend on an antiquated ferry system and some forward thinking. How will tourism increase with such a project? The answer is simple. Easier access at an affordable cost combined with the natural beauty of the area. Savary Island, for instance. Known as the “Hawaii of the North” and for its white sand beaches and stunning ocean and mountain views. The island is surrounded by warm water, making it an excellent location for paddle boarding, kayaking, scuba diving, and swimming of course. Savary Island also has network of scenic hiking and biking trails which wind through the lush forest. A short boat ride away is the quaint seaside village of Lund which offers access to Desolation Sound and the Copeland Islands where there are eleven designated campsites located throughout the Marine Provincial Park. The 180 kilometre Sunshine Coast Trail begins at nearby Sarah Point and stretches all the way to Saltery Bay. This epic backcountry trail, similar to the popular West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island, now boasts thirteen huts and is the longest hut-to-hut hiking experience in Canada. The trail winds through a variety of landscapes from breathtaking coastal shorelines, scenic mountaintops, and old growth forests. The best part is... It’s free! Come tackle the sheer rock faces in the Eldred Valley and Stillwater Bluffs. These awe-inspiring bluffs contain some of the most incredible granite climbing walls in the world and have been compared to Yosemite. There is some excellent bouldering nearby as well. There are plenty of thrilling mountain bike trails throughout the communities of the Sunshine Coast as participants of the BC Bike Race can attest. There is also a brand new skate and bike park. The proposed road would link with Highway 99 in Squamish and would bring a vast amount of people through town and would definitely stimulate both commerce and tourism in the area. Upgrading the existing logging roads would create many well paying jobs just as the project to upgrade the Sea to Sky prior to the Olympics in 2010. Economically, the beauty of this project is that many of its components are already in place, from Highway 99 to forest service roads. Constructing this new highway would bring access to huge amounts of waterfront front property in a friendly community that is packed with amenities and is great for raising a family. Powell River, deemed the “Least Polluted City in the World” by the Guinness Book of World Records, has untapped, affordable potential where you can purchase a million dollar home for $400000. Infrastructure spending is now a reality in Canada and investing in projects such as this one is important for sustained economic prosperity. The decisions we make today to invest in our province will affect what we can access, where we can travel, and shape the future of BC. I say... Let’s lobby for our share of those federal infrastructure dollars and build a road with a toll on it so that we can increase tourism and grow our local economy. We will be paying for them either way.

Petition to Ms.Jonaya Pringle Windsoro Ponds property manager

    Construct a biking area

Greetings Ms.Jonaya Pringle,                                                   Hope you are staying safe during this Dreadful Pandemic. For the past week residents of Windsor Ponds have been complaining about us kids riding our bikes on the sidewalk, road, and grass. In our defense, we the kids, have no space to ride our bikes. Let me explain. Pedestrians are walking on the sidewalk and they are nervous that we will crash into them as they are walking or jogging. When we are going on the road, drivers are fearful that they might  collide into us while we are biking. Basically, people are insinuating that we should not bike on the road or the sidewalk. Where else can we bike?   The solutions to this trivial problem is that the Windsor Ponds Community management constructs a biking area right next to the tennis courts, where there is a lot of open space for biking. In this process both adults and children will be safe. I hope you understand.                                                                              Sincerely,                                                                                            Aditya Pochinapeddi
