    Petition to Government

The Windrush Compensation Scheme must be administered by an independent body.

The treatment of Windrush migrants by our Government is a national scandal.  The Fifth Report of the Home Affairs Committee on the Windrush Compensation Scheme and a separate report commissioned by JUSTICE  both made it clear that the administration of the Scheme by the Home Office has suffered from serious failings. The Home Affairs Committee Report reveals that a vast number of deserving applicants who have applied haven’t received a penny, with 23 dying before receiving any compensation. A number of law firms around the City are providing free advice to Claimants but the Scheme’s requirements are onerous and overly complicated and Claimants suffer from significant delays.  Among the conclusions of the Committee is that the Scheme must be completely revamped and removed from the purview of the Home Office. The Home Office’s role as tortfeasor makes it extremely problematic that it is responsible both for the design and administration of the Scheme and that it has full control over interpretation of the scheme rules, with no recourse to independent review. The Scheme’s administration must take the form of a demonstrably independent, single-stage review process in which claimants could have greater confidence, such as a judge-led panel, whose decisions the Home Office should then implement.

California DMV administered Driver License test translated into Nepali.

Nepalese legal residents of California currently exceed 100,000.  It is their and our intention that Nepalese as well as all legal residents integrate, assimilate, and add community service focused value to the culture of California.  We each need an equal opportunity for transportation, including a California driver license so that we can engage in more meaningful employment.  The DMV Drivers Test is translated into dozens of languages by the DMV, but not Nepali.

    Petition to Federal Drug Administration

Approve CBD/Cannabis oil to be administered in school for Qualifying Ailments.

My daughter has been taking Cannabis/CBD oils for the last 5 years to control seizures, autoimmune deficiency and autism caused by FDA protocols.  She has gone from thousands of seizures to safe withdrawel ability and random seizures because of Cannabis and CBD. She improves every day. She has regained Quality of life on Cannabis/CBD. It needs to be unscathed by the pharmaceutical industry, kept natural with all Cannabinoids preserved. Deschedule and allow free access for all qualifying conditions.

Petition to The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu

Close cinema halls until the vaccines are administered

The health care workers, the police and the sanitary workers are tired after working so hard to minimise the damage of this pandemic. They all are our real heroes and they need time to breathe. The pandemic is not over, even till date people are dying and if the theatres open to full occupancy then in all probability, the pandemic will resurge because these large gatherings at the cinema halls to view the movies will definitely add to the spread of the pandemic. So let's not be in a hurry to open the theatres or cinema halls. Please sign the petition to the Chief Minister of Tamilnadu to keep the cinema halls fully closed or open as per pandemic protocols until the vaccines come into effect. This will surely avoid another catastrophe. Let's all come together and sign the petition to keep the Covid 19 numbers low in our neighborhood.

Petition to FITNYC , Fashion Institute of Technology

Delay Billing Due Date until Final Restart Plan is Administered at the FIT

After canceling all in-person courses promised on July 15th, 2020, the Fashion Institute of Technology has decided to withdraw their decision nine days before the deadline for bill payments. An extension of bill payment and scheduled payment plans, in addition to cancellation of late fees is a fair compromise for prolonging the Fall 2020 Restart Plan and withdrawing statements within days whilst continuously asking students to be patience and flexible, but not giving students the same flexibility.  On March 16th, 2020, all students at the Fashion Institute of Technology were forced to evacuate the Residence Halls due to the growing outbreak of COVID-19. This forced many students who require in person instruction or on campus resources to relocate and finish the remainder of the semester from other locations. As we saw during the switch from in person instruction to remote learning, many students who require hands on demonstrations and access to equipment struggled with the switch. This includes fashion design, communication design pathways, film and media, fine arts, and a myriad of other students.  It was apparent that Fall 2020 would not return to normalcy, however, as other institutions became aware of the plans set in place to safely continue their education, FIT did not notify students until early July, a month before students are scheduled to begin moving in. They also failed to announce the list of courses that would remain in-person due to lab and studio restrictions. On July 15th, in-person courses were distributed, however, the following week students received an email stating the suspension of in person courses for all students, but access to all academic buildings, labs and studios through reservation. This poses a larger threat to students' exposure to other peers within their department, whereas in person instruction only will expose students to those in their graduating year. FIT continues to change their plan of action, but still continues to push for the final bill payment on August 3rd, 2020. They have given students less than ten days to decide whether or not they choose to continue with their education and claim to still be providing a quality education despite deciding to suspend in-person courses for classes that do not translate to an online format. All students who require on campus housing have also been told that move in will be conducted from August 3rd-August 16th. The most current email states that students will not move in until late August, and have yet to provide a solid timeline. While us students do understand the severity of this virus and wish to be as cautious as possible, we believe that it is simply unjust to put this financial burden on students during a global pandemic and an economic crisis. We, the students, are calling for the Fashion Institute of Technology to extend the deadline for bill payment or discard of the late fee. This includes delaying of the scheduled dates for both payment plans. We, the students, are not asking for a reduction in tuition, but simply more time to gather funds or ponder on deferment from the institution until the proper resources are available.
