Given that New Zealand has one of the highest rates of Melanoma in the world, it is unacceptable that our playgrounds are still out in broad daylight with no shade or cover.
A lot of parents do not take their children to playgrounds because it is either too hot, there is no shade, or the equipment is scorching.
We want to prevent cancer, and suffering. So along with the mandatory slip, slop, slap - coverage at our playgrounds should be a must.
Our children are our future, so let's protect them on the outside, so that they can grow on the inside (play is important!).
We need to get this petition signed by as many people as possible - Mums, Dads, Brothers, Sisters, Uncles, Aunties - everyone. Our children are the future.
Please sign this and share it amongst your friends. We need the Auckland City Council, heck even the Government to take this seriously.
This is not limited to Auckland City residents either - once this gets going this needs to be MANDATORY across New Zealand.

Petition to Boris Johnson, Matt Hancock, UK Government, Department of Health UK
I am a primary school teacher and a mother of 3 young children. The government will soon reopen primary schools during this pandemic. They have said that teachers don't need PPE. This leaves staff with no protection against Covid-19, despite the fact that they are at high risk of contracting the disease in their work place. Social distancing is impossible in schools. I work in a small classroom with 29 young children; my job requires close contact with all of them. This disease can cause severe illness and even death in people of all ages. A lack of PPE will lead to many preventable deaths amongst teaching staff and their families. We have already had deaths of teachers from coronavirus before schools were closed. When schools reopen the virus will begin to circulate more widely and teaching staff will be amongst the first to be infected because viruses spread rapidly in schools. Teaching staff need face masks of a minimum FFP2 or N95 standard, as a home made cloth mask will not be effective in a classroom environment. These masks are not easy to obtain and are expensive. The government should provide them for all teaching staff. They deserve to have some protection against this disease. They should not have to risk their lives and the lives of their family members to do their job.Read more

Support Prison Officers to continue to perform their jobs safely by providing Covid19 personal protective equipment for those coming into contact with infected inmates. This is particularly important for security staff who transfer sick inmates to isolation units and to hospital as required.
Make testing staff a priority along with NHS workers to facilitate correct isolation and enable staff who can work to return as quickly as possible to ensure prisons have sufficient human resource to maintain security.
We must adequately protect all key workers. A failure to do so could lead to unsafe situations such as riots, putting both staff and potentially the public at risk if there is a loss of control.Read more

Petition to Doug Ford, Justin Trudeau, Christine Elliot
2021 Update: ONA is back to the bargaining table. Bill 124 is still a barrier to helping nurses get a good pay raise.
Nurses are at the frontline caring for those with COVID-19. Meanwhile, the nurses union is trying to work out a deal with the Ontario hospitals to improve work conditions and raise the hourly for nurses. However, due to Bill 124 the union is limited and their efforts are being blocked.
Sign this petition so Doug Ford will significantly increase the pay of nurses, who are the backbone of the healthcare profession.
