In the summer term of 2013 Sussex Students Union board of trustees took the decision to disband the Men’s Rugby Club due to unfortunate off-field behavioural incidents. Throughout the academic year of 2013-14, the now ‘Sussex Exiles’ are continuing to compile a portfolio of positive actions such as fundraising, charity events and club developments that illustrate a genuine and substantial progression in the culture and ethos of the club. There will be a review process at the end of this academic year where the decision will be made whether to reinstate the team back into the Students Union.

Rugby is an exciting, inclusive and challenging sport and with the Rugby World Cup being staged in England in 2015 there is no better time to get involved. Please sign this petition to show your support for the ban to be overturned so Men’s Rugby can work to be a celebrated source of pride for the Students Union and the wider university population as a whole.
