The Issue

On July 31, 2014, heavy metal band Corprit Convict will be marching the steps of Congress, performing songs from their debut album, Come Clean, in protest of SuperPACs and lax campaign finance regulations.

Campaign financing has become the single, biggest problem plaguing our country's political landscape today.  In a country of over 300 million people, 26 people provided more than half of the presidential SuperPAC funds in the 2012 elections.

In April, 2014, the US Supreme Court voted to allow individuals to give nearly $6 million directly to candidates and parties in a 2-year election cycle.  This is nearly 50 times the limit before the ruling.

Special interest groups and lobbyists now control our contry's politicians and are drowning out the voices of the American people.

It's time for members of Congress to be responsible to their voters, not to their contributors.  Money talks and, right now, in Washington, it's screaming.
