Make The Hunger Games rated 'R'

Make The Hunger Games rated 'R'
The Issue
The visual impact of the movie, The Hunger Games if far too mature for the minds of young teens. The kid to kid violence is virtually terrifying and disturbing. There is no excuse for allowing children or adults to view this diplay of barbarian blodshed. Even in an age were parents are ignoring the ratings of violent video games and movies, the impact of what the children see is a lifetime of damage. Based on our parental decisions, the ethics of our society are being challenged and laughed at world-wide. It is a poor decision of theMPAA to say that it's suitable for thirteen year old teens to view The Hunger Games. The film's murder and bloodshed scenes are horrific and far too intense for a teen's mind to analyze. Even though there is a moral in the plot, teenagers' minds are barely able to comprehend it.
My 13 year old said "Of course I will kill people."
His response to my questions absolutely ensures me that the author's intended message was terribly misinterpretated by the over-shadowing of the visual and graphic killing scenes.
This movie should not have the rating of PG-13 if the only message the teenagers learn is, it's better to kill, than to be killed.
In Great Britain, the movie had to be altered to recieve a rating equivalent to that of PG-13.
'The documentary Bully got an R rating while The Hunger Games got a PG 13. I guess kids killing other kids is preferable to swearing?' Sian Heder wrote.

Parents need to pay attention to what is socially acceptable. This movie with a rating of PG-13, is not acceptable for young teens to watch. Please help our cause and ask that the Motion Picture Association of America classify the move, The Hunger Games as 'R'.
