Make National Potato Day A National Holiday

The Issue

Millions upon millions of potatoes were lost to the Great Irish Famine that hit Ireland in 1845.

It's important that people take a day to reflect on the impact that potatoes have and the devastation the famine caused.

Potatoes play such an important part in the daily life of Irish people. Everything from crisps, to mash and even roast potatoes rely heavily on having a good healthy supply of potatoes and we're urging the Irish Government to take note of this.

We want a national holiday to mark the great potato.

It deserves it. And so do you.
