Yesterday I logged on to my Facebook account only to come across another sickening page. This one was directed towards stillborn children, stating that it is funny for someones child to be stillborn, and that the child deserved it and babies that are alive should have been born stillborn. This page has hurt the hearts of so many mothers and fathers, and people in general. This is not the first nor the only page like this but this specific one has made me realize someone has got to do something about these pages! As you know Facebook does offer a report button, I have reported the page as so have thousands of others but yet the page is still ongoing four days later. I have contacted Facebook in an effort to have them help prevent pages like this in the future. I have included in the message the idea of having to have all pages approved. When a business, community, or group create a page I believe the creator should be able to fill out all personal information, including uploading pictures, filling out general information, ect. I then believe there should be some sort of button on the page to submit the page to be reviewed and if the page does not contain obscene and/or abusive gestures/pictures and seems legit it should be activated, BUT until then the page should remain inactive so that it cannot be viewed or interacted with. While I realize users can create a page and seem genuine, I understand it's still possible for the creator to change information and make the page into another "disgusting" page, atleast this way when the page is reported Facebook could have more background information on where the page originated from and what information was provided before, this would also cause the creator to go against Facebook policy and possibly commit fraud. While we can't fully stop this, we can do something to help take more steps in preventing it. Facebook has become apart of millions of peoples lives, it is a network to communicate with family and friends not a network to be bashed or feel abused. Please join me and help get things like this off Facebook and make it a better community to participate in.
