Montville Chase Condominiums represents 317 units and approximately 700 residents on the Right-Of-Way (ROW) along Changebridge Road in Montville, NJ. In the same ROW is the nearly completed PSE&G Roseland-Susquehanna transmissions lines which added a 500kV line to the existing 230kV line and increased the tower height to 195 feet. JCP&L is proposing to upgrade their 34kV line to 230kV which includes installation of 100 foot towers, one on our property and one directly across the street from one of our entrances.

Our concerns are two-fold. First, we are concerned about the potential health effects of the increase of EMF on our community which will now increase significantly to what it was prior to the PSEG project. The lines go directly over the track area of our property which is used by families and their small children. Even though both JCP&L and PSE&G have stated there is no proof of health related effects, we are very concerned especially with multiple lines in the same ROW.

Our second concern is that the new tower will have a direct negative effect on the values of our homes. The towers are an eyesore that run through the middle of our community. Additionally, there is an almost constant buzz from the existing lines and we would expect this noise to increase which impacts on our quality of life. We truly believe that another highly visible line will devalue our property even further and make selling a property within our community much more difficult, if not impossible, especially for those next to the ROW
